New Delhi: Many festivals, celebrations, anniversaries and days are falling in the month of September, due to which there will be holidays in banks and government offices.

According to the list of holidays of the Reserve Bank of India, banks are going to be closed for a total of 16 days including Sunday, second Saturday and fourth Saturday in various states of India. Banks will remain closed on 18, 19 and 20 in many states on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi.

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) publishes a list of bank holidays every month to ensure that consumers are not inconvenienced. In the month of September, banks will remain closed on the occasion of Shri Krishna Janmashtami, Ganesh Chaturthi, Nuakhai Shri Narayan Guru Samadhi Day, Maharaja Hari Singh Ji’s birthday, Shrimant Sankardev’s birth anniversary, Milad-e-Sharif (Prophet Mohammed’s birthday), Indrajatra. According to RBI, there may be changes in state-wise holidays.

Holiday from 27th to 29th even after Ganesh Chaturthi

Banks are going to remain closed for 3 consecutive days on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi. Depending on the state, banks will remain closed on 18th, 19th and 20th for Ganesh Chaturthi. Similarly, on 27, 28 and 29 September, there will be a holiday in banks for 3 consecutive days due to festivals.
