8th Pay Commission It may take up to 3 years for the 8th Pay Commission to be implemented. The formation of the commission has been announced but till now neither the chairman nor its members have been appointed nor the TOR (Terms of Reference) notification has been issued.

8th Pay Commission: Lakhs of central employees and pensioners are waiting for the 8th Pay Commission. The government has made the announcement but its board members have not been formed yet. In such a situation, the question arises that what are the reasons due to which the 8th Pay Commission is getting delayed. Let us know the reasons due to which there is disappointment on the faces of the employees.

Major reasons for the delay in the 8th Pay Commission

Appointment of members and chairman pending

Terms of reference not prepared yet

No budget provision for the 8th Pay Commission

These are the major reasons due to which the members of the 8th Pay Commission have not been constituted yet. The government had announced its formation in January 2025 itself. But it has not been decided yet which members will be kept in this commission. Neither has its chairman been appointed. We can also consider this as a major reason for the delay in the 8th Pay Commission.

Forming a pay commission is a very complicated and lengthy process. First its members are appointed. Till now even the Term of Reference (ToR) of the 8th Pay Commission has not been prepared. This means the scope of work, what things need to be done. We can consider this as one of the reasons for the delay in the 8th Pay Commission .

There has been no budgetary provision for the 8th Pay Commission till now. The Pay Commission puts a heavy burden on the government. Even after the formation of the 7th Pay Commission, an additional burden of thousands of crores of rupees had increased on the government treasury. In such a situation, keeping the economy in mind, budgetary provision has to be made for this as well. We can also consider this as a reason for the delay in the 8th Pay Commission.

When can the 8th Pay Commission be implemented?
It may take about 3 years for the 8th Pay Commission to be implemented. That is, it may be implemented by 2028. Because after the announcement of the 7th Pay Commission, it took almost the same time for it to be implemented. That is, now central employees may have to wait for a long 3 years.

8th Pay Commission Latest News: Union Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary told the Parliament that there is no plan of the government to set up the Eighth Pay Commission for the Central Government employees.

In a written reply to a question in the Lok Sabha, Chaudhary said that no such proposal is under consideration with the government for the formation of the Eighth Pay Commission for the Central Government employees. He was replying to a question in the House whether the government has proposed to ensure timely constitution of the Eighth Central Pay Commission for Central Government employees. So that it can be implemented on January 1, 2026.

The Minister said that in order to compensate the Central Government employees for the fall in the actual value of their salaries due to inflation, they are paid Dearness Allowance (DA) and the rate of DA every six months as amended from time to time. Is performed. Dearness Allowance is fixed according to the rate of inflation as per the All India Consumer Price Index for Industrial Workers released by the Labor Bureau under the Ministry of Labor and Employment.

Dearness allowance expected to increase by the end of the financial year
Central government employees are eagerly waiting for the hike in DA rate in the second half of the financial year. As the inflation rates are being kept intact, the cabinet is likely to increase the DA for all central government employees and pensioners and a decision in this regard may be announced soon. DA is calculated on the basis of retail inflation which has been more than 7% for some time now.

According to reports, DA is likely to increase between 3% and 4%.

In July 2021, the Center revised the DA from 17% to 28% as per the recommendations of the Seventh Pay Commission. Again, the Union Cabinet approved a 3% hike in DA for employees in October 2021 with effect from July 1, 2021.

The central government decided to increase the DA by another 3% in January 2022. Currently, all government employees are getting DA at 34%. More than 50 lakh government employees and 65 lakh pensioners are getting the benefit of amendment in DA.

Significantly, the 7th Central Pay Commission was established by the government on 28 February 2014. Center creates a pay commission to revise the salary structure of government employees after 10 years.

The post 8th Pay Commission Latest News: Big news about the formation of 8th Pay Commission, Center said – no such plan first appeared on Rightsofemployees.com.
