The regional office of the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) in Lucknow has launched a special campaign to promote and create awareness about the mandatory biometric update in children’s Aadhaar. This also includes the Aadhaar Seva Kendra of the district, where biometrics of children can be updated without an appointment.

According to officials, under this campaign, children between the ages of 5 and 15 years will no longer need to book an appointment at the Aadhaar Seva Kendra to get their biometrics updated in their Aadhaar from Monday to Friday between 4:30 pm and 5:30 pm and throughout the day on Saturday and Sunday.

Children will be able to get their biometrics updated in their Aadhaar card by going directly to the Aadhaar Seva Kendra with their parents. It is known that when a child turns 5 years and then 15 years, it is mandatory to get his/her biometrics updated in Aadhaar. In this, the child’s fingerprint, eye scanning and latest photograph are recorded again.

According to the officials, separate machines have been arranged for registration and biometric updating at Aadhaar Seva Kendras, which will provide great convenience to the people. With this process, updating biometrics will also become much easier than before.
