For change in Aadhaar, you must have registered mobile number. To do any kind of update in Aadhaar, you have to visit the official website of UIDAI. Here you have to apply for correction. Here you have to give your register number. After this OTP will come on your registered mobile number. Fill it.

After login, go to the homepage and click on Proceed to Update Aadhaar. After this a new page will open. Then select the name change option and scan and attach the supporting documents. After that submit and select ‘Send OTP’ option. Then your mobile number OTP will come. Enter it. After filling the OTP, your name change application will be submitted.

Till now people had to pay 25 rupees to update their documents on the Aadhaar portal. According to the official statement, ‘The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has decided to allow people to update their Aadhaar documents online free of cost. This step will benefit lakhs of people. The free service is available for the next three months i.e. from March 15 to June 14, 2023.

There will be a fee of Rs 50.

As per the Aadhaar Enrollment and Update Regulations, 2016, Aadhaar number holders can update their supporting documents at least once every 10 years from the date of enrollment for Aadhaar. The statement said that this service is free only on the Aadhaar portal and a fee of Rs 50 will continue to be paid at physical Aadhaar centers as before.

It has been said in the statement that the new system is making authentication based transactions even stronger and safer.

Let us tell you that positive growth is being seen in Aadhaar-based authentication transactions. Because it has proved helpful in availing many welfare benefits and services. According to statistics, by the end of December 2022, the total number of Aadhaar authentication transactions had crossed 88.29 billion. On an average, 70 million transactions were happening per day.
