The United Forum of Bank Unions has called for a two-day protest on March 24-25 over its various demands, including adequate recruitment across all cadres, regularisation of temporary workers and a five-day working week in the banking industry, news agency ANI reported on Monday. The United Forum of Bank Unions is an umbrella body of nine bank unions – AIBEA, AIBOC, NCBE, AIBOA, BEFI, INBEF, INBOC, NOBW and NOBO.

These are the demands of the unions

Adequate recruitment in all cadres

Regularize all temporary employees

Implementation of 5-day working week in the banking industry

Protect job security

Roll back DFS instruction on performance review

Withdraw DFS directive on PLI

Protect the bankers, ensure safety

No more assault and abuse! Safe workplace for bank officers and employees now

Filling up of posts of employee/officer directors in public sector banks

Resolution of pending issues with Indian Banks Association

Raise the maximum limit of gratuity to Rs 25 lakh and make it tax-free – parity with government employees now

Stop imposing unfair taxes on employee welfare. No income tax levy on concessional benefits-let management bear the cost

Protect national interests, retain 51% government equity in IDBI Bank

They oppose these

United Forum of Bank Unions says that we oppose the micro-management of PSBs by DFS on policy matters, which affects the service conditions of employees and officers and weakens bilateralism. Also, we oppose outsourcing of permanent jobs in banks, unfair labor practices in the banking industry. Lakhs of bank employees across the country will join this strike. This may affect the functioning of banks. If you have important work, then finish it beforehand.

Banking related work may be affected in the month of December. Actually, All India Bank Employees Association (AIBEA) has announced a strike from 4th December to 11th December.

Both public and private banks across the country may be affected by the strike. According to the notification issued by the association, a 6-day strike is planned in December. Let us know which bank is on strike on which date.

December 4: Strikes are planned at Punjab National Bank (PNB), State Bank of India (SBI), and Punjab & Sind Bank.

5 December: There is strike in Bank of Baroda and Bank of India.
6 December: There is strike in Canara Bank and Central Bank of India.
7 December: There is strike in Indian Bank and UCO Bank.
8 December: There is strike in Union Bank of India and Bank of Maharashtra.
December 11: Private banks will also join the strike.
Please note that banks will remain closed on 9th and 10th December due to weekly holidays – Saturday and Sunday.

What is the reason for the strike: Actually, there is some demand from the bank employees. This includes preventing outsourcing of permanent jobs in the banking sector besides ensuring adequate recruitment of ‘award staff’ in all banks.

AIBEA general secretary CH Venkatachalam had earlier pointed out that outsourcing of jobs by some banks is putting customers’ privacy and their money at risk besides reducing recruitment at the grassroots level. At the same time, some banks are also violating the Industrial Disputes (Amendment) Act.

Due to this strike, banking services are likely to be disrupted across the country. Customers may face challenges in accessing various banking services due to absence of staff in many branches during this period.

The post Bank Strike!

Bank Strike on 19 November : If you have any important work related to bank on 19th November i.e. Saturday, then settle that work a few days in advance. Because banks across the country can remain closed on this day.

In fact, the All India Bank Employees Association (AIBEA) says that there will be a bank strike across the country on November 19, which may affect banking services across the country next week. Let us tell you that November 19 is the third Saturday.

While all banks remain open on the first and third Saturdays. In a regulatory filing on Monday, Bank of Baroda (BoB) said that the General Secretary of All India Bank Employees Union has given strike notice to Indian Banks Association, stating that their members went on strike on 19.11.2022 for their demands.

You can go and raise your demands. The bank said that, the bank is taking necessary steps for the smooth functioning of the branches and offices of the bank during the strike days, but in the event of a strike, the functioning of the branches and offices may be affected.

ATM services may also be affected

Along with this, it is being speculated that due to the strike on November 19, ATM services may also be affected. Therefore, it is important for you that the bank related work to be settled on the 19th should be settled a few days in advance. So that none of your bank related work gets hampered. Let us tell you that today banks are closed in Aizawl, Kanpur, Kolkata, Chandigarh, Jammu, Jaipur, Dehradun, New Delhi, Nagpur, Belapur, Bhubaneswar, due to Nanak Jayanti / Kartik Purnima / Rahas Purnima.

There will be a strike against the unfair transfer

AIBEA general secretary CH Venkatachalam said a few days ago that attacks on unions, rights of representation, harassment and retaliation on leaders and violations of agreements and unfair transfers of employees from one city to another and to destabilize employees’ lives and They will also strike against the separation.
