Delhi Dry Day List: Due to the assembly elections in Delhi, there will be dry days for four days, orders have already been issued for this. Liquor cannot be served anywhere on these days.

Assembly elections in Delhi have been announced and now voting will take place on 5 February, all kinds of preparations have been done for this. Due to elections in Delhi, liquor shops will also be kept closed, four days have been fixed for this. That means liquor shops in Delhi will remain completely closed for four days.

Liquor shops will remain closed in Delhi from February 3 to February 5 till the voting ends. Apart from this, the election results will be declared on February 8, so this day will also be a dry day. Now the question in people’s mind is that liquor shops will remain closed for so many days in Delhi, but will liquor not be available in Noida and Gurugram too? We will give you the answer to this.

Noida is in Uttar Pradesh and Gurugram is a city in Haryana, so there will be no restrictions on liquor shops here. That means people of Noida and Gurugram can get liquor. However, liquor shops can be closed in some areas adjacent to Delhi. The same thing happened during the Lok Sabha elections.

Then some shops adjacent to the Delhi border were kept closed due to security reasons. Now if you are thinking that you can bring liquor from Noida-Gurugram on dry day in Delhi then you are wrong, if you are caught with liquor in Delhi on the voting day, you can be jailed and fined.

Modi government seems to be moving ahead with its agenda. BJP, which performed brilliantly in the assembly elections of Haryana and Maharashtra, is full of enthusiasm.

In such a situation, it is being speculated that the ‘One Nation One Election’ bill may be introduced in this winter session of Parliament.

According to government sources, the ‘One Nation, One Election’ (ONOP) Bill will be discussed in detail and Speakers of all legislative assemblies will be invited to participate in the discussions. In September, the Union Cabinet had approved the ‘One Nation, One Election’ proposal, which aims to hold Lok Sabha and state elections simultaneously.

However, to avoid controversy, the government can present it in this winter session and send it to JPC. Modi Cabinet had already approved the report of former President Ramnath Kovind Committee on One Nation-One Election. The government will present this bill in Lok Sabha to build consensus on it and send it to JPC.

To implement the One Nation One Election scheme, at least six bills will have to be introduced in Parliament to amend the Constitution and the government will need a two-thirds majority in Parliament. The government also has a majority in both houses.

In fact, the central government had announced a panel under the chairmanship of former President Ram Nath Kovind for One Nation-One Election. After the panel submitted the report, the Union Cabinet approved it. After the cabinet’s approval, it is now to be made a law. For this, the government is now going to introduce a bill in Parliament. Which will be sent to the JPC before discussion. The Modi government has announced that Lok Sabha and Assembly elections are to be held simultaneously across the country in 2029.

FAQ:

1. What does One Nation-One Election mean?

This means that elections to the Lok Sabha and state assemblies should be held simultaneously across the country. This is an attempt to save time and resources in the existing election process.

2. What is the objective of this scheme?

Its main purpose is to reduce the cost and time of electoral process, reduce hindrance in administrative work and avoid repeated election process for the public.

3. What changes will be made to implement this bill?

To implement One Nation-One Election, amendments to the Constitution will be required. At least six major bills will have to be amended, including the Representation of the People Act and provisions such as Articles 83, 85, 172, 174, and 356 of the Constitution.

When will ‘One Nation One Election’ be implemented in India?

4. Can it be implemented immediately?

No, it will take time to implement. The plan is to fully implement it by 2029. This will require widespread consensus, constitutional amendment, and cooperation from all states.

5. Is there a consensus on One Nation-One Election?

Various political parties have different opinions on this. Many parties are demanding discussion and more deliberations on this, while some parties are opposing it. The government is making efforts to build a consensus on this issue.

Assembly elections are going to be held in Madhya Pradesh on 17th November. Before the voting of assembly elections, the Election Commission has not given permission to give dearness allowance to government employees.

Now the employees are expected to get relief in this matter only after the formation of the new government. In fact, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan had written a letter to the Election Commission regarding giving four pieces of dearness allowance to the employees on the day of Dhanteras and had requested that permission should be given to give dearness allowance to the employees of the state.

State Secretary of Third Class Employees Union, Umashankar Tiwari said that the employees and retired employees are disappointed with the Election Commission not allowing 4% dearness allowance to 7.50 lakh employees of the state and dearness relief to 4.50 lakh retired employees.

He said that during the Kamal Nath government in March 2020, the formation of a new government was banned due to the Finance Department’s order to give 12% to 17%. It was only the employees who suffered the loss. He said that now if the new government does not accept this proposal then the working class will be deprived of benefits worth Rs 500 crore.

The post DA Hike!
