ATM Cash Withdrawal Charges 2025: If you withdraw money from ATM then this news is important for you. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has approved an increase in ATM interchange fees.

Due to this, from May 1, customers will have to pay additional charges on cash withdrawal and other transactions from ATM. This change will especially affect those who depend more on cash transactions rather than digital payments.

What is ATM interchange fee?

ATM interchange fee is the amount that a bank pays when its customer uses another bank’s ATM. This charge is also often levied on customers, especially when they transact beyond the free transaction limit.

Change in fees as per new rules

According to the notification issued by RBI, the following changes will be made on ATM transactions from May 1, 2025. After the free limit is exhausted, every cash withdrawal transaction will now be charged Rs 19, which was Rs 17 earlier. For balance inquiry or other non-cash transactions, customers will have to pay a fee of Rs 7, which was Rs 6 earlier.

Reason for fee hike

This change has been made following the demand of white-label ATM operators. These operators had appealed to RBI to increase the interchange fee due to increasing work cost so that their business can remain stable.

What will be the impact for customers?

There will be no additional charges on transactions within the free transaction limit. After the prescribed free limit, Rs 19 will be charged on each cash withdrawal and Rs 7 for other services.

So if you do more cash transactions, then this change can affect your pocket. Customers are advised to understand the free transaction limit of their bank and pay more attention to digital payment options.

According to a newspaper report, ATM operators of India have approached RBI and NPCI to increase the interchange fee paid by customers on cash withdrawal.

If you withdraw cash from an ATM, you should be ready to pay higher charges for usage in the coming days. You may have to pay higher charges for withdrawing cash after the set free limit. According to a newspaper report, ATM operators in India have approached the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) to increase the interchange fee paid by customers on cash withdrawals.

Demand for Rs 23 per transaction

According to the news, the Confederation of ATM Industry or CATMI wants this fee to be increased to a maximum of Rs 23 per transaction. An ATM manufacturer says that the interchange rate was increased two years ago. We are contacting the Reserve Bank and it seems that they are supporting it. We (CATMI) have requested to increase the fee to Rs 21. However, some other ATM manufacturers have demanded to increase it to Rs 23.

Interchange fee was increased in 2021

The ATM manufacturer says that last time, it took several years to increase the interchange fee, but this time it seems that everyone is unanimous and it is just a matter of time before the fee hike happens. According to the report, the Reserve Bank did not respond to an email seeking comment.

In the year 2021, the interchange fee on ATM transactions was increased from Rs 15 to Rs 17. ATM interchange is the fee paid by the card issuing bank to the bank where the card is used to withdraw cash. Also, the limit of fee charged from the customer was increased from Rs 20 to Rs 21 per transaction.

There is no need to worry even if you do not have an ATM card in your pocket, because now cash can be withdrawn from the ATM even without it. You will only need your smartphone. The method is very easy.

If you want to withdraw money from an ATM machine, a debit card is required. But in today’s digital and technology era, you can withdraw money from ATM machine even without a debit card. For this you should only have your mobile. For this you do not need an ATM card. This banking service has been running for many days.

Although many banks were already providing the facility to their customers to withdraw money without card, but now the Reserve Bank has further expanded its scope. UPI i.e. Unified Payment Interface will be used for this facility. RBI has allowed banks to provide the facility of withdrawing money without using the card. Today we will talk in detail about withdrawing money from ATM without card.

To withdraw money from ATM without debit card, you must have a smartphone. Your smartphone should have any UPI enabled app like BHIM, Paytm, GPay, PhonePe etc. You will be able to withdraw money through these apps only.

Follow these steps

To withdraw money, first go to the ATM and choose the option to withdraw money without card. You will see the option to provide identification through UPI. After this, open the UPI app in your mobile and scan the QR code visible in front. You will be authenticated through UPI and after that you will be able to withdraw money. The further process will be the same as before. Enter the amount of money you want and withdraw your money.

Which technology will be used?

The Reserve Bank will soon issue separate instructions to NPCI, ATM network and banks to provide the facility of withdrawing money from ATM without debit card. Unified Payment Interface i.e. UPI will be used for this facility. Customers will be identified through UPI and such transactions will be settled through the ATM network. Let us tell you that this step will also provide a lot of relief to banks.

Benefits of withdrawing money without card

Reserve Bank Governor Shakti anta Das has said that the facility of withdrawing money from ATM without card is very beneficial. He had said that the facility of cash withdrawal without card will help in preventing frauds like card skimming, card cloning. Apart from this, you will not need to keep the card with you. Your smartphone will do all this work.

The post ATM Cash Withdrawal : You can withdraw cash from ATM without ATM card, know the complete process first appeared on Rightsofemployees.com.

SBI Change ATM Withdraw Process: State Bank of India has now changed the method of withdrawing cash from ATM. Now SBI has started OTP service to withdraw cash from ATM.

The bank has made this big change to protect its customers from fraud. Soon this rule will be seen applicable on SBI ATMs. This rule will act as an additional safeguard against unauthorized transactions.

According to the bank, while completing the transaction, the bank customers will have to share the OTP while withdrawing cash from the ATM, so that it is ensured that the ATM user is the right user. OTP is a system-generated four-digit number that the bank will send to the customer’s registered mobile number. This OTP will authenticate the cash withdrawal and will be valid for only one transaction.

OTP cash withdrawal started from January 1, 2020

The country’s largest lending bank SBI had started OTP-based cash withdrawal services from January 1, 2020. SBI has been creating awareness about ATM frauds through social media and other platforms from time to time. It is appealing to all its customers to avail the service.

OTP will be required in transactions of 10 thousand or above

Now this service will come in handy for SBI customers at the time of withdrawing cash from ATMs. SBI made these rules in view of the increasing fraud, cyber crime. Let us tell you that customers withdrawing Rs 10,000 or more in a single transaction from SBI ATMs will require OTP to complete the transaction.

ATM Cash Withdrawal: One time transaction can be done with one OTP. It is a means of verification of the customer. With this, the same person will be able to withdraw money from the ATM whose OTP will be sent to his mobile. The OTP will be sent to the mobile of the person who has an account with SBI.

State Bank of India (SBI) has made a new rule for withdrawing money from ATMs. Now SBI customers will also have to enter one time password i.e. OTP while withdrawing money from ATM. This facility is being provided 24 hours and 7 days. This facility is being given in every SBI bank ATM for transactions above Rs 10,000.

In view of the incidents of fraud, SBI has made cash withdrawal from ATMs more secure. In view of this, OTP is sent to the customer’s mobile. Then the same OTP has to be entered in the ATM. The name of this new service is OTP based cash withdrawal facility. OTP is received on whatever mobile number of the customer is entered in the bank.

One time transaction can be done with one OTP. It is a means of verification of the customer. With this, the same person will be able to withdraw money from the ATM whose OTP will be sent to his mobile. And the OTP will go to the mobile of the same person who has an account in SBI. State Bank has described OTP based cash withdrawal as a vaccination against fraud people. SBI says that protecting customers from fraud is its priority.

Also know how to withdraw money from OTP. Actually, when a customer puts a debit card in an ATM, then an OTP comes on his mobile phone. The customer has to first enter this OTP at the ATM. Only after that the process of cash withdrawal will start. Therefore, if you are a customer of SBI and are going to withdraw money from SBI ATM, then do not forget to take mobile phone along with you.

The OTP sent to your mobile is a 4 digit number. This OTP tells that the customer is correct as it is sent to the registered number. OTP is being used in the transaction for authentication or rather for verification. Nowadays OTP has been implemented in almost every banking service so that fraud can be got rid of. Fraudsters will not be able to withdraw cash from OTP based ATMs.

For OTP based cash withdrawal, if the customer wants to withdraw more than Rs 10,000, then he has to enter the OTP. Apart from this, the customer will also have to enter the PIN number of the debit card. This gives double security in ATM withdrawal. First OTP and then Debit Card PIN. Then money can be withdrawn from ATM.
