EPFO subscribers got a shock

Top officials of the Labor Ministry and EPFO ​​on Thursday briefed the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Labor headed by BJD MP Bhartrihari Mahtab about the operation of the EPF pension scheme and management of its funds. Officials informed the committee that the finance ministry was not agreeable to the labor ministry’s proposal for any increase in the monthly pension. After this, the committee has now decided to call the top officials of the Finance Ministry to seek clarification regarding this subject.

In fact, the committee in its report had recommended increasing the minimum monthly pension payable to member/widow/widower pensioners by at least Rs 2,000. In view of the rising inflation, the committee had given this proposal.

Pension Scheme Changes

Significantly, the EPFO ​​has agreed to withdraw deposits under the Employees’ Pension Scheme 1995 (EPS-95) for employees retiring in less than six months. As of now, Employees’ Provident Fund (EPFO) subscribers are allowed to withdraw deposits from the Employees’ Provident Fund account only if they have less than six months of remaining service. This decision means that now the subscribers of EPFO ​​will be able to withdraw money from the pension fund as well.

In such a situation, to get this interest, you will have to deal with a very important task. Without doing this work, interest money will not be transferred to your account. Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF) has given its subscribers the facility to update KYC (Know Your Customer-KYC).

You can update KYC by visiting the official portal of EPFO, epfindia.gov.in. If the KYC process of an account holder is not completed, then in such a situation, the PF will not transfer the interest money to the account. You will need UAN number and password to do this work. If you have not yet completed your EPFO ​​KYC, then update it as soon as possible. Let’s know about this-

Step by step process to update KYC-

  1. For this, first go to the member portal of EPFO.
  2. Here login by entering your UAN number and password.
  3. As soon as you login, a page will open in front of you in which manage will be written.
  4. Select its KYC option. After this, fill all the details asked here like Aadhar number, PAN number, bank account number etc.
  5. After that click on Save option.
  6. In the column of KYC Pending for Approval, you will see the status of KYC.
  7. If you see Digitally Approved KYC written then your KYC has been completed. You will also get a message through its SMS.
