New Delhi. Have you ever thought that a ‘cute charge’ can be levied on air travel tickets? Something similar happened with a passenger recently. He saw many strange charges in Indigo Airlines tickets and shared them on social media.

This kind of charge, heard and seen for the first time, was bound to create an uproar. If Indigo, the company with the highest market share in the country, does this, then people are bound to get shocked.

The whole matter is like this. A lawyer booked an Indigo flight ticket from Lucknow to Bangalore and was surprised to see a “cute fee” in the payment details of the ticket. A lawyer who booked a flight ticket from Lucknow to Bangalore questioned Indigo Airlines about the “cute fee”. He jokingly asked whether this fee is being charged for the “cuteness” of the passengers or for the “cuteness” of the aircraft?

This funny and interesting incident became a topic of discussion on social media. This post went viral on social media. IndiGo clarified that the “cute fee” is actually charged for the equipment used at the airport.

IndiGo answered all the questions.

This post created a stir on social media and was viewed more than 1.7 million times. On this, IndiGo airline clarified that “CUTE fee” means “Common User Terminal Equipment” fee, which is charged for the use of metal detectors, escalators and other equipment used at the airport.

Dear @IndiGo6E ,

1. What is this ‘Cute Fee’? Do you charge users for being cute? Or do you charge because you believe that your aeroplanes are cute?

2. What is this ‘User Development Fee’? How do you develop me when I travel in your aeroplane?

3. What is this ‘Aviation… pic.twitter.com/i4jWvXh6UM

— Shrayansh Singh (@_shrayanshsingh) August 19, 2024

Apart from this, the lawyer also raised questions about “User Development Fee” and “Aviation Security Fee”. He asked whether this fee is necessary in addition to the taxes paid to the government for the safety of the passenger? On this, IndiGo said that “User Development Fee” is charged for the development and maintenance of airport infrastructure, while “Aviation Security Fee” is charged for airport operators.

Other people also reacted to this post. Someone said, “Now I understand why IndiGo was showing me three times the price – maybe being cute is also a crime now!”

Delhi Airport Update: The update from Indigo Airlines has increased the problems of the passengers. In fact, all flight operations were suspended on Friday after the roof of the forecourt of Terminal One-D of IGI Airport collapsed. As a result, the airlines Indigo and SpiceJet operating flights from this terminal also announced the cancellation of all their flights.

On Friday afternoon, it was decided to shift the flights operating from Terminal One-D to Terminal Two and Terminal Three. The Aviation Ministry also hoped that the flights flying from Terminal One will start operating from Terminal Two and Three after 2 pm on Friday. After this news, passengers heaved a sigh of relief. But, an update from Indigo some time ago has again increased the concern of the passengers.

In fact, IndiGo has informed in its new update that all flights flying from Terminal One on June 28 have been cancelled. The airline has informed that the operation of these flights will start from Terminal Two and Terminal Three from midnight on June 29. The airline has once again clarified that until the situation becomes normal, all arrivals and departures of the airlines will be from Terminal Two and Terminal Three only.
