Bank Employees Gift: In the meeting held today between IBA and bank unions, the salary increase of 8.50 lakh bank employees of the country has been approved.

Bank Employees: The salary hike of 8.50 lakh bank employees of the country has been approved. An agreement has been reached between IBA and bank unions regarding this and the long-running wait of bank employees has been completed.

The current 11th salary agreement of government bank employees had ended on November 1, 2022. Since then, talks were going on between the unions and the IBA to reach a consensus on the salary increase.

While making the announcement, IBA Chairman AK Goyal said that a decision has been taken to increase the salary by 17 percent. Apart from this, the next review will be due in November 2027. However, bank employees have not been given the opportunity to work for 5 days.

Bank employees did not get the gift of 5 days working
The demand of bank employees for 5 days working has not been met and the Bank Association says that only the Central Government can approve it. Bank unions were demanding 5 days working in banks. IBA has already given the proposal to the government to declare all Saturdays as holidays in banks.

At present, banks in the country remain closed only on second and fourth Saturdays and open on first and third Saturdays. In this way, bank employees get 6 weekly offs in a month, the demand to increase it to 8 weekly offs was being made for a long time but at present this has not been fulfilled.

General Secretary of AIBEA had given the signal
Even before the big and detailed information about this came out and the press conference, CH Venkatachalam, General Secretary of All India Bank Employees Association i.e. AIBEA, had shared a post on the social media platform X. In this he had indicated good news for the bankers.

Lok Sabha election dates announced very soon – Government has taken a big decision
Even before the announcement of Lok Sabha election dates and implementation of the code of conduct, the Central Government has approved the long-demanded demands of bank employees. With a good increase of 17 percent in the salary of bank employees, the Central Government will hope to get their support.
