Bank Holiday Tomorrow: If you have any pending bank work, then settle it today, because the banks are going to be closed tomorrow i.e. on August 13. According to the holiday calendar of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), all public and private sector banks will remain closed in Manipur on August 13. However, in all other states of the country, banks will remain open like normal days and regular work will be done.

Why is there a holiday in Manipur?

Patriotism Day is celebrated every year on 13 August in Manipur. This day is dedicated to the brave freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives in the struggle against British rule. In particular, this day pays tribute to the heroes of the Anglo-Manipuri War of 1891, such as Yuvraj Tikendrajit Singh and General Thanglensana, who were hanged by the British. Banks and many other institutions remain closed in Manipur to commemorate this historic day.

Even though bank branches will remain closed in Manipur , digital banking services like net banking, mobile banking, UPI, and ATMs will work normally. You will be able to transact through them. However, check clearing, draft making, or other branch-based services will not be available. So, if you have any important work related to the bank branch, plan it before or after August 13.

Banks will also remain closed on 15-17 August

Banks will remain closed for three consecutive days between August 15 and 17, 2025, which may cause problems for customers in essential banking work. August 15 will be a national holiday due to Independence Day, August 16 is a holiday in many states on account of Krishna Janmashtami, and August 17 will be a weekly holiday as it is Sunday.
