New Delhi. Soon smartphone users will be able to make UPI payments using their fingerprint sensor ID or face ID. Currently, a PIN needs to be entered to make UPI payments.

National Payments Corporation of India or NPCI says that transactions worth billions of rupees are taking place through various UPI apps across the country. Crores of payments are being made every day.

More people in India are now using UPI for digital payments. In such a situation, soon you can see a big upgrade in UPI payments, which claims to be more secure than your existing digital payments. Different reports have claimed that the National Payments Corporation of India is talking to companies to authenticate UPI payments using biometric features on smartphones.

People are getting robbed every day!

According to a report by Moneycontrol, it is revealed that the UPI authority is quite concerned about the different types of scams that are being reported almost daily. People lose their hard-earned money just because they authenticate payments using a special four or six-digit PIN. The UPI system is generally safe. But people accidentally get cheated by scammers and send money while they expect to receive money.

You must be aware of a scam on OLX that forced the platform to display a pop-up message. This message gave a clear warning about sending and receiving money. NPCI believes that Face ID or biometric security is the right way for UPI payments. However, it is still not known when Face ID integration will happen in UPI apps, and if it does, which public-facing apps will support it.

After all, you have Google Pay, PhonePe, Amazon Pay, Paytm and many other apps that let you make UPI payments in the country. Hopefully, more and more UPI apps will give people the option to use between PIN or biometrics.

Aadhaar Update: At present, Aadhar card has become the most important document and now preparations have started to increase its scope. In this connection, the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), the government agency of Aadhaar, has asked the states to increase the government coverage in their respective states, so that the wastage of government money is reduced.

For this, the government has started a new initiative. Under this, UIDAI will encourage people to update their Aadhaar and biometric details every 10 years. However, UIDAI has also said that doing this is not a compulsion for anyone but advice. UIDAI also says that this will put a check on fake basis and the data of the people will also be completely safe.

Will update as per your wish

UIDAI said in its notification that every 10 years any person can update the biometrics and demographic details of their choice. Although this is not a rule yet, it is just advice. As per the existing rules, children in the age group of 5-15 years are allowed to update their biometric data. Let us inform that a person above 70 years of age will not need to update his biometric details.

Updates can be done from Aadhar center

If you also want to update your Aadhar card, then you can do it by visiting the nearest Aadhar center. Apart from this, to prevent misuse of Aadhaar, UIDAI recommends locking it. This is a special feature in which the Aadhaar number is temporarily locked and unlocked. With this, all the data of the card holder remains safe and confidentiality is maintained.

Aadhaar has been made for more than 90% of the youth

Talking about the government figures, 79 lakh have been enrolled in the country between April and July in the 0-5 year financial year. Apart from this, 2.64 crore children above the age of 5 years had child Aadhar till 31 March 2022. However, this figure increased to 3.43 crore in July. Apart from this, so far 93.41 percent of the people above the age of 18 years have been made Aadhar card in the country.

The post Aadhaar Big Update: There will be a big change in Aadhaar, biometrics can be updated every 10 years first appeared on Rightsofemployees.com.
