In the initial phase of this offer, SIM delivery service will be available in 16 major cities including Delhi, Gurgaon, Faridabad, Sonipat, Ahmedabad, Surat, Chennai, Bhopal, Indore, Bangalore, Mumbai, Pune, Lucknow, Jaipur, Kolkata and Hyderabad. According to a statement, other cities and towns will be added over time.

SIM card at a fee of Rs 49

According to the statement, under this initiative, customers will be able to get SIM cards at their homes in 10 minutes at a charge of Rs 49. After getting the SIM card, customers can activate the number through Aadhaar based KYC process as per the prescribed procedure.

Siddharth Sharma, Marketing Director, Bharti Airtel said, “At Airtel, our goal is to simplify the lives of customers. Today, we are thrilled to partner with Blinkit to deliver SIM cards to customers’ homes in 16 cities within 10 minutes and with time, we plan to expand this partnership to other cities.”

Shares of both the companies

closed at Rs 1798.75 on BSE at the end of trading on April 15, with a gain of 2.36 percent. At the same time, shares of Blinkit’s parent company Eternal (formerly Zomato) closed at 222.30 with a gain of 2.40 percent.

Dhindsa said in his X post that this new service will currently be available in Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Pune, Lucknow, Ahmedabad, Chandigarh, Chennai, Jaipur, Bangalore and Kolkata. This means that customers in these cities can now order Apple products from Blinkit within minutes.

Loss making company

Blinkit’s parent company Zomato suffered a loss of Rs 103 crore in the quarter ended December 2024, the main reason for which is the huge investments made for rapid growth. However, the company believes that at present it is incurring losses, but in the coming time this business can earn more profits.

In the fast-growing quick-commerce sector, Blinkit is facing tough competition from platforms like Zepto, Swiggy Instamart and BigBasket. Dhindsa said that due to this increasing competition, people are increasingly moving towards this model. However, this is currently affecting the company’s profits, but this situation is temporary.

Blinkit’s co-founder and CEO Albinder Dhindsa launched it on Thursday (January 2) in Gurugram, adjacent to Delhi. Currently, 5 ambulances are included in this service. Blinkit’s ambulance service will reach the patients within just 10 minutes.

Dhindsa said that providing fast and reliable ambulance services in our cities is a major challenge. This is just the first step. Our goal is to expand this service carefully and make it available in all major cities in the next 2 years. Dhindsa said that soon the facility of BLS i.e. Basic Life Support ambulance booking will be available through the Blinkit app. He said that he does not want to make a profit from this service. His aim is to provide cheap and reliable ambulance service to the people.

These facilities will be available in the ambulances

Life saving equipment is present in the 5 ambulances launched. These ambulances will have oxygen cylinders, automated external defibrillators (AED), stretchers, monitors, suction machines and emergency medicines and injections along with other necessary things. Apart from this, a paramedic and a driver will be present in the ambulance.

Now Blinkit will also take party orders.

Earlier, Blinkit has introduced a large order fleet in Delhi and Gurugram on Tuesday (31 December). It will deliver food for dozens of people at once in group events like parties. This new fleet is completely made up of electric vehicles, which have been designed to handle large orders.

Quick e-commerce company Blinkit has started EMI option for orders above Rs 2999. The aim of this move by Blinkit is to increase the purchasing power of customers and help them improve their financial planning. Blinkit founder Albinder Dhindsa has posted on social media that we have started shopping with EMI on Blinkit. The new EMI service will be applicable on all orders above Rs 2,999. This does not include orders containing gold and silver coins.

How to avail Blinkit EMI option

This EMI option will be applicable on all orders above Rs 2,999. Only customers who have credit cards of these banks can avail the EMI option of Blinkit.

HDFC Bank Credit Card EMI starts at 16% per annum with a processing charge of Rs 199.

SBI Bank credit card EMI starts at 15% per annum with a processing fee of Rs 99. ICICI Bank credit card EMI starts at 15.99% per annum with a processing fee of Rs 199.

Kotak Mahindra Bank credit card EMI starts at 16% per annum with a processing fee of Rs 199. Axis Bank credit card EMI starts at 16% per annum with a processing fee of 1%.

RBL Bank credit card EMI starts at 13% per annum with a processing fee of Rs 199. CITI Bank credit card EMI starts at 16% per annum with a processing fee of 1%.
