Stock Market Holiday: Indian stock markets will remain closed on Wednesday, 20 November 2024 and there will be no work on BSE and NSE in the stock market.

The holiday in the stock market has been announced on the occasion of assembly elections in Maharashtra. The stock market has given official information about this.

Trading holiday on currency market and commodity exchange too

There will be a holiday on both the stock market exchanges i.e. BSE and NSE and there will be no work on the exchange on this day due to Maharashtra assembly elections . There will also be a holiday on the currency market and commodity exchange.

Mumbaikars will be busy on November 20 due to political turmoil in Mumbai

Jharkhand assembly elections will also be held on this day and 9 assembly by-elections have been announced in Uttar Pradesh. However, the stock market has been given a holiday because it is election day in the country’s financial capital Mumbai, from where the stock exchanges operate. There will be political turmoil in Maharashtra’s capital Mumbai on November 20 and for this reason, an attempt has been made to pause financial work a little so that all Mumbaikars and residents of Maharashtra can exercise their right to vote.

Stock market will remain closed for 12 days in November

The stock market is going to remain closed for a total of 12 days in November and the reason for this is festivals and special holidays. On Friday, 1st November, the stock market was closed on the occasion of Diwali. After this, on Friday, 15th November, the stock market will remain closed due to Guru Nanak Jayanti. After this, on Wednesday, 20th November, the stock market will remain closed on the day of Maharashtra assembly elections. At the same time, a total of 12 days of stock market holiday are being included in November, including all Saturdays and Sundays of the month.

Holiday notification issued on NSE

In a notification issued by the exchange on NSE, it was said that “The trading holiday will continue on the upcoming Wednesday, 20 November, in view of the assembly elections in Maharashtra.” For information, let us tell you that voting will take place in the 288-member assembly on November 20 and counting of votes will take place on November 23.

Share Market Update: BSE has issued new guidelines for small and medium enterprises wishing to migrate from its SME platform to the main board.

Under this, the applicant should have a net worth of at least Rs 15 crore in the last two financial years. Under the guidelines, the applicant company is required to be listed on the SME platform for at least three years. Apart from this, they must have 250 public shareholders before being transferred to the main board.

These are the new guidelines

The operating profit of the SME should be positive in at least two of the three financial years. Also, the applicant applying for transfer to the exchange must have registered an increase in net profit in the current financial year. “The applicant should have a net worth of at least Rs 15 crore for the last two completed financial years,” BSE said in a circular.
There should be no issue with this

The applicant company should not have any case pending in the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) in the past or present. No regulatory action such as suspension of trading has been taken by any stock exchange against SMEs and their promoters in the last three years. Also, the applicant company along with its promoters as well as its subsidiaries should not be banned by the capital market regulator Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI).

The exchange also changed the eligibility criteria for listing on the SME platform. BSE said that the new guidelines will be effective from January 1, 2024. According to the data, so far 464 companies have been listed on the BSE SME platform, out of which 181 have been shifted to the main board.

Top stock exchanges BSE and National Stock Exchange (NSE) launched a dedicated platform for SMEs in March 2012 to ease the way for these companies to get listed and help them raise equity capital for growth and expansion in a cost-effective manner. Was.
