BSF Recruitment 2024 Notification: Everyone dreams of getting the job of an officer in the Border Security Force (BSF). But this dream is fulfilled by only a few people. If you also want to fulfill this dream, then you will have to pass the UPSC CAPF Recruitment 2024 examination conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). For this, UPSC has released vacancy for recruitment to the posts of Assistant Commandant (Group A). Any candidate who wants to apply for these posts can apply through the official website.

A total of 186 posts will be recruited through this recruitment process of UPSC. The application process for this has started from 24th April and candidates can apply on or before 14th May. Candidates applying for the posts of Assistant Commandant in Border Security Force (BSF) must have a graduate degree from any recognized university.

Fee will have to be paid to fill the form in BSF

Candidates who want to apply for the posts of Assistant Commandant in Border Security Force (BSF) will have to pay Rs 200 as application fee. However, women candidates and people belonging to SC/ST category are exempted from payment of application fee.

A total of 75,768 posts will be recruited under this recruitment. After the start of registration, interested and eligible candidates can apply online by visiting the official website of the Commission, ssc.nic.in. The examination for recruitment to these posts will be conducted in February 2024. The examination will be conducted in CBT mode in Hindi and English language. 0.50 marks will be deducted for every wrong answer in the CBT exam.

The posts of General Duty Constable will be filled in many security forces. These include 27875 posts of BSF, 8598 of CISF, 25427 of CRPF, 5278 of SSB, 3006 of ITBP, 4776 of Assam Rifles and 583 of SSF.

Qualification and Examination Fees

Youth who have passed Matriculation (10th) examination from any recognized board can apply for all these posts. Candidates age should be between 18 to 23 years as on 1st August 2023. At the same time, candidates belonging to reserved categories have also been given relaxation in the maximum age limit. Under the SSC GD Constable recruitment process, candidates will have to go through written examination, physical, physical standard test and medical.

In the written examination, questions will come from Reasoning, GK, Maths and Hindi-English. For more information you can check the issued notification. The application fee for the exam is Rs 100. Female candidates and candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Ex-Servicemen (ESM) are exempted from payment of fee.

Educational Qualification for BSF Head Constable

Applicant candidate must have class 12th pass with 60% aggregate marks in PCM or matriculation with two years ITI certificate.

Application Fee for BSF Head Constable

Candidates belonging to unreserved / EWS / OBC category will have to pay Rs 100 as exam fee and Rs 47.20 service charge for BSF recruitment. Women candidates/SC/ST/BSF serving personnel and Ex-servicemen are exempted from payment of examination fee. The bench of Justice Suresh Kumar Kat and Justice Nina Bansal has given this decision rejecting all the petitions.

The Delhi High Court said in its decision that according to the CCS (Pension) Rules, 1972, the benefit of Old Pension Scheme will be given to all employees of CRPF, BSF, CISF and ITBP. The court further said in its order that according to the notification issued on December 22, 2013, all other Central Government employees except the Armed Forces will get the benefit of the new pension scheme.

What did the court say about the old pension scheme

The Delhi High Court said in its order that the Old Pension Scheme already exists for the Armed Forces. In such a situation, the new pension scheme has not been implemented. The court also informed that in the notification of the new pension scheme, the same information has been given that the new pension scheme is not for the armed forces. This means that CAPF personnel will continue to get the benefit of the old pension scheme.

Arm force is under the Ministry of Home Affairs

The Delhi High Court cited a Supreme Court judgment v. Union Territory of Mizoram, (1981) which showed that the CRPF is a part of the armed forces. Further, the court said that in a circular issued by the Home Ministry of the Government of India on August 6, it was said that the Central Force comes under the Ministry of Home Affairs. For this reason the Arm Force is under the Centre.

The Delhi High Court read the Pension and PW Department’s memorandum of November 2003, the clarification letter dated December 6, 2004 and the office memorandum dated December 17, 2022. As per all these notifications, BSF, CISF, CRPF, ITBP, NSG, Assam Rifles and SSB Central Forces are part of Ministry of Home Affairs.
