New Delhi- State-owned telecom and internet service provider BSNL is constantly busy improving its service. Recently it has expanded its 4G service and has also installed towers on a large scale.

Now BSNL has recently launched its Internet Protocol-based IFTV service in another state, through which users will be able to watch more than 500 live TV channels for free. For this, there is no need for a set-top box.

The state-run telecom company has assured that customers will be able to watch live TV channels in HD quality through broadband connection. Apart from this, BSNL’s IFTV can be used on old LCD or LED TVs with easy installation of Fire Stick.

BSNL, which launched the service in these states, has confirmed on its official X handle that this service has been officially launched in the Gujarat Telecom Circle. Earlier, this service was launched in Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Punjab. In the Punjab Circle, BSNL has partnered with SkyPro for this initiative. The company had first announced this service during the India Mobile Congress (IMC) held last year. Apart from this, BSNL has recently launched its Direct-to-Mobile (D2M) service in Puducherry, known as BiTV, which gives mobile users the opportunity to watch over 300 live TV channels for free.

No additional fees will be charged

According to the telecom company’s social media post, the IFTV service promises seamless connectivity and digital entertainment. It is India’s first fiber-based Internet TV service, which will show users over 500 live TV channels and premium pay-TV content in crystal clear quality without buffering. The special thing is that BSNL Bharat Fiber users will be able to avail the IFTV service without any additional cost.

BSNL is shutting down this service from January 15, it will affect the users

BSNL is rapidly expanding its network. For this, it is installing its towers in those areas of the country where it did not have towers. Meanwhile, the state-owned telecom company has decided to shut down one of its services from January 15.

If you are a BNSL user, then this news may be important for you. State-owned telecom company, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), is continuously installing towers to expand its 4G network. Meanwhile, the company has decided to shut down its 3G service, which is going to affect lakhs of users. BSNL will shut down its 3G services in Patna from January 15, 2025. Earlier, in its first phase, BSNL has shut down 3G network in Munger, Khagaria, Begusarai, Katihar and Motihari.

According to the information, in this phase, the 3G network of other districts including Patna will be shut down. With this, customers with 3G SIM will get only calling facility and will not get data facility.

Lakhs of users will be affected

According to BSNL Chief General Manager R.K. Chaudhary, the 4G network has been completely updated in various districts of the state. Due to this, the 3G network has been shut down in most of the districts. From January 15, 3G service will also be shut down in other cities. Currently, lakhs of users are using 3G service in Patna and other cities.

You can exchange your BSNL 3G SIM with a 4G SIM card. The good thing is that you don’t have to pay any fee for this. For this, BSNL customers can go to their nearest customer care center or BSNL office and get a new SIM. By depositing the old SIM there, you will get a new SIM in exchange.

To get a new SIM issued, users will have to carry their photo ID with them. SIMs issued before 2017 are being replaced. The most important thing is that the new SIM will also support 5G. So, when 5G services start, you will not have to buy a new SIM again.
