7th Pay Commission. Great news has come out for lakhs of central employees of the country. As you know, the winter session of the country is going on. Due to which different types of information are coming out everyday.

The central government is giving its answers on many issues in Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha. So there once again big information has come to the fore on 18 months outstanding arrears of central employees and pensioners. In fact, let us tell you that once again the issue of arrears of 18 months of lakhs of central employees and pensioners has been raised in the Rajya Sabha.

It is being told in the news that during the question hour, once again the question was asked regarding the release of pending pension from the government. The Modi government had to give an explanation in the House as to why the arrears of 18 months have not been given to the central employees and pensioners.

Central finance told the reason for not giving arrears

Union Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chowdhary said that the decision to stop the three installments of dearness allowance and dearness relief to central employees and pensioners was taken in view of the economic situation arising out of the Corona epidemic. The rationale behind this is that the government had to make provision of a lot of money for welfare schemes. The Minister of State for Finance said in the House that due to financial burden, DA arrears of 18 months to central employees and pensioners have not been released.

Big information came to the fore for pensioners

Union Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chowdhary has given a big information to the House in response to the question asked regarding the release of arrears of pensioners. Union Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chowdhary has said that due to the economic situation arising due to the Corona epidemic in 2020 and the welfare measures taken by the government, its financial impact is continuing even after the financial year 2020-21, hence the dearness allowance and dearness allowance to the central employees. The arrears of dearness relief have not been released to the pensioners.

Demand for arrears of employee-pensioners

Actually let us tell you that at present 38 percent dearness allowance is being given to central employees. The last DA was increased in the same September 2022. But the central employees are waiting for arrears of 18 months. Government employees and pensioners have been continuously demanding payment of DA arrears for 18 months between January 2020 and June 2021 from the government. Organizations associated with employees and pensioners have also submitted a memorandum to the government regarding this demand.

Due to this attitude of the government, there is great disappointment among the employees and pensioners.

So the arrears of the same employee-pensioner, the government has told why the arrears of 18 months have not been paid. But the government did not tell whether the government will consider it further or not. However, the employees unions are adamant on their demand for DA arrears of 18 months. It is being told that there is a lot of disappointment among the employees and pensioners regarding this attitude of the government.

If you want to secure the future of your daughters financially, then Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana (SSY) of the Central Government is a great investment option for you. You will take care of this account till the girl child attains the age of 18 years and after that the money in the account can be withdrawn by the girl as per her need. However, the maturity of this scheme comes on the completion of 21 years of age of the daughter.

The government is currently paying an interest of 7.6 percent on this, which is higher than many FDs. A good fund can be deposited till maturity by investing in it for daughter’s education or marriage expenses. However, this account can be opened for only 2 girls of a family. But there is also a situation where this account can be opened for 3 daughters.

In what condition will the account of three daughters be opened, if after 1 daughter in a family then 2 twin daughters or after 2 twin daughters there is 1 daughter, then the account can be opened for all the three girls under Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana. Under this scheme, earlier only 2 daughters used to get tax exemption on depositing the amount in the account but now the third daughter has also been included in it.

Higher interest than many other schemes

As we mentioned that in this scheme the government is giving you more returns than many fixed deposits. Similarly, you are getting more returns than many government schemes under Sukanya Samriddhi. You are being given more interest here than PPF, NSC, RD or Monthly Income Scheme. Let us tell you that whatever you invest in it, you will get three times the return on maturity. At present, you can raise a maximum amount of up to Rs 64 lakh through this scheme.

How much can you invest?

You can start this account with a deposit of Rs.250. You can deposit only 1.5 lakh rupees in this scheme in a financial year. Once the account is opened, you have to deposit a minimum of Rs 250 in every financial year, failing which you can be fined Rs 50. It is worth noting that this scheme matures when the girl child turns 21, but you have to invest in it only for 15 years.

This means that if you open this account for a 3-year-old girl, then you have to invest only till the age of 18 years. The interest will automatically accrue over the next 3 years. Keep in mind that the age of the girl child should be less than 10 years to open the account.
