What is life proof?

Jeevan Pramaan is an Aadhaar-based and biometric-enabled Digital Life Certificate (DLC). It is a valid life certificate and is recognized under the IT Act. Through DLC, pensioners prove to the pension authority that they are alive.

Complete process of submitting digital life certificate

Keep in mind that for this you should have a smartphone with at least 5MP front camera and it should also have internet connectivity. Also make sure that your Aadhaar number is registered with the pension disbursing authority, which includes banks, post offices or others. Let us tell you that it is necessary to have Aadhaar number or VID to get a digital life certificate.

Install ‘AadhaarFaceRD’ and ‘Jeevan Pramaan Face App’ from Google Play Store in the phone.
Scan operator’s face after operator authentication.
Fill all the details of the pensioner.
Take a photo using the front camera and submit it.
An SMS with a link to download the digital life certificate will be sent to the pensioner’s mobile number. Download it and submit it.

Last date for submission of Annual Life Certificate

Usually, the last date to submit the Annual Life Certificate is 30 November unless it is extended by the government. Senior pensioners aged 80 years and above can submit their life certificate on October 1, 2024, but it will remain valid till 30 November next year.

What will happen if the life certificate is not submitted by the last date?
If the life certificate is not submitted by the last date, the pension payment will stop. That is, the person will stop receiving pension. However, if the life certificate is submitted a few months after the last date, the pension will resume, and all the dues till then will also be paid to the pensioner. But remember that this will happen only if the life certificate is submitted within three years.

If the life certificate is not submitted for three years or more, the pension will be paid again only after getting approval through CPAO (Central Pension Accounting Office) by the officer concerned with the case under the pension process.

This campaign, which started from November 1, will run till November 30.

In places where doorstep banking services are being provided, staff assigned to bank branches are being equipped with Android phones so that this technology can be used when pensioners visit the branch to submit the life certificate. .

Along with this, bank employees may be asked to visit the homes of very ill pensioners who are unable to get up from bed, to submit their Digital Life Certificate (DLC). Apart from this, camps should be organized to enable the pensioners to submit their DLC without any delay.

Let us tell you that in the year 2014, the government started the system of depositing DLC using biometric devices. Subsequently, work was done to develop face authentication technology system based on Aadhaar database, making it possible to submit life certificate with the help of any Android based smart phone. According to this facility, the identity of a person is established through face authentication technology and Digital Life Certificate (DLC) is generated.

Let us tell you that this technology was launched in November 2021 and it reduced the dependence of pensioners on external bio-metric devices. Now the process has been made more accessible and affordable by taking advantage of smartphone-based technology.

According to the CCS Pension Rules, 2021, after the pensioner reaches 80 years of age, his compensation allowance increases, which is available in the form of enhanced pension. However, its benefit is available only to retired government employees. In this way, the amount of pension increases

– above 80 years but below 85 years of age, the basic pension increases by 20 percent.

Above 95 years but below 100 years of age, the pensioner gets 50% increase in basic amount.

Whatever be the date of birth: According to the rules applicable from the 1st of the pension
, even if the pensioner was born on any date, but he starts getting the benefit of additional pension from the 1st of that month only. For example, if a person was born on 15th August, then on attaining the age of 80 years, the benefit of 20% increased pension would start from 1st August. Similarly, pensioners born on August 4 will also be paid the increased amount as on August 1.

The new rule will be applicable to these employees only

. The Central Government had notified the Central Civil Services (Pension) Rules on December 20, 2021. Only those government employees who have been appointed before December 31, 2003 will get the benefit of this. It also includes civil government employees attached to the Defense Services. This rule will not be applicable to railway employees, employees of All India Services.
