The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Sunday said that heat wave conditions are expected to return in some parts of northwest and central India. While light to moderate rains with thunder and lightning are likely in northeast India in the next 5 days. According to IMD, the maximum temperature in northwest India is likely to increase by 2-3 degrees Celsius in the next five days. While no significant change is expected in the maximum temperature in central India and Gujarat in the next 24 hours. After this, there will be an increase of 2-3 degrees Celsius in the next six days. Along with this, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta will launch the Heat Action Plan at the Delhi Secretariat tomorrow. This is happening for the first time in Delhi.

According to the Meteorological Department, the maximum temperature in eastern India may gradually increase by 4-6 degrees Celsius in the next four days. IMD Director General M Mohapatra said that the maximum temperature will increase in northwest India and central India as the intense western disturbance (WD) has dissipated. This system was very strong and caused heavy thunder and rain in the hills. But now we do not expect any strong western disturbance in the next few days.

The Meteorological Department said that there was also heavy rain and thunderstorm in eastern India, but that rain has also stopped now, so there is a possibility of a rapid increase in temperature there too. Moderate to heavy snowfall was recorded in some parts of Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh on Saturday. Thunderstorm accompanied by strong winds occurred at some places in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, East Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Gangetic West Bengal, Odisha, Jharkhand, Bihar, North-East India, Kerala and Mahe, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Interior Karnataka, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, Rayalaseema and Telangana.

Hailstorms were also reported at isolated places in Odisha, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Tamil Nadu and some other areas. Heat wave in East Rajasthan remained confined to isolated places, while conditions remained warm to very warm at night. IMD has predicted a significant reduction in rainfall activity in the Western Himalayan region including Jammu and Kashmir from April 21. Meanwhile, a new round of heavy rainfall is expected to start in Northeast India from April 22.
