On the instructions of the Chief Minister, for the first time in the state, the process of approving old age pension to the people of the state has been started as soon as they complete 60 years of age.

On the instructions of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, applications for old age pension can now be received on the pension portal of the Social Welfare Department even after completing the age of 59 years and 6 months. After the applicant’s form is approved, the applicant’s old age pension will be started from the end of the month in which he completes the age of 60 years. This will enable the elderly to get the benefit of old age pension on time.

The Chief Minister said that after streamlining the system of approval of old age pension, now our elderly people will be able to get the benefit of old age pension on time. He said that the state government has increased the old age pension from 1200 to 1500. Now both husband and wife elderly couples are being given the benefit of pension. He said that our aim is to provide the benefits of development and government welfare schemes to the person standing at the last end of the society, for which continuous efforts are being made. He said that all the elderly people of the state are like his guardians, in whose service he will always be ready.

The Chief Minister said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had declared the third decade of the 21st century as the decade of Uttarakhand from the land of Baba Kedarnath. The state government is continuously working on this. Uttarakhand is continuously moving forward on the path of development. The state is performing best in every field. Uttarakhand came first in the list of sustainable development goals released by Niti Aayog.

The unemployment rate in the state has decreased. The state has also performed well in ease of living. He said that in the last 3 years, about 19000 youth have been given employment in government departments. Efforts are continuously being made to fill all the vacant posts in the state at a fast pace.

On this occasion, Secretary Social Welfare Neeraj Khairwal informed that between 25-September-2024 to 15-October-2024, a massive campaign was conducted in all the districts of the state by the department to identify the persons who have completed 60 years of age in the districts. 12 thousand such persons were identified by the department during the campaign.

Under the campaign, data of such persons was collected who have completed 60 years of age on 01-October-2024 and are eligible for old age pension. Apart from this, data of such persons was also collected who have completed the age of 59 years 6 months and are eligible for old age pension.

If DA is increased in November, then the salary may increase with the new rates in December, i.e. the salary for December. With this, you can get the benefit of 46 percent DA and arrears. However, official confirmation is yet to come.

7th and 6th Pay Commission employees and pensioners will get benefits

With this, more than 3 lakh government, aided educational and technical educational institutions of the state, post holders working in UGC pay scales and employees and pensioners of urban bodies will get benefit of the Seventh Pay Commission. Also, the dearness allowance of the employees drawing the sixth pay scale will also be benefited. Will be increased. Payment of increased dearness allowance will entail an annual expenditure of approximately Rs 600 crore on the government treasury. This will increase the monthly honorarium of employees from Rs 2000 to Rs 5000.
