The Central Government Employees and Workers Confederation recently wrote a letter to Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman expressing concern over the delay in the announcement of DA/DR hike.

Dearness Allowance is usually reviewed twice a year. Dearness Allowance is increased from January and July.

The central government can announce an increase in Dearness Allowance and Dearness Relief for central employees and pensioners after the cabinet meeting on Wednesday i.e. today. More than one crore people are likely to keep an eye on this decision of the government. The central government can give a gift to employees and pensioners before Diwali.

This increase is done according to inflation. However, official announcements are often made later. Currently DA is 50 percent.

DA can increase up to 3%

Central government employees are hoping that there can be a 3% increase in dearness allowance. At the same time, dearness relief for pensioners can also increase up to 3%. In such a situation, if there is a 3% increase in dearness allowance, then DA and DR for employees and pensioners will increase to 53%. However, no official statement has come on this yet.

Employees are eagerly waiting for this announcement, which may lead to a 3% hike in their DA. This change will be implemented in October, along with the arrears of the last three months from July to September. This is in line with last year’s pattern, when the salary hike was announced in early October.

What did the senior official say?

A senior official of the Confederation of Central Government Employees and Workers was quoted in the media report as saying that there will be a hike in DA in the next cabinet meeting. We are expecting an increase of at least 3%. The calculation of DA is closely linked to the All India Consumer Price Index (AICPI), which tracks retail inflation over the past 12 months. With global inflation pressures and rising costs, this decision is important for managing household budgets across the country.

The hike was announced in March

A 4% DA hike was announced in March 2024, which increased the DA from 46% to 50%. This hike also triggered revision of other allowances, including house rent allowance, in line with the 7th Pay Commission guidelines. The 7th Pay Commission, set up about a decade ago, had proposed automatic revision of basic pay when the DA crossed 50%. However, this proposal was not approved, due to which the unions plan to raise the demand again with the upcoming 8th Pay Commission.

7th Pay Commission Update: In September 2021, the central government had increased the dearness allowance of central employees from 34 percent to 38 percent by 4 percent. Now once again it is expected to increase by four percent.

The festival of Holi is about to come and on this festival of colors, the central employees can have a bat. In fact, it is expected that the central government can give a big gift to the employees and pensioners by increasing the dearness allowance. Employees organizations are expecting 4% DA/DR Hike. If this happens, then their dearness allowance will increase from 38 percent to 42 percent and there will be a bumper increase in the salary of central employees.

Lakhs of employees-pensioners will be benefited

If the government decides to increase the dearness allowance before Holi, then it will benefit about 48 lakh central employees and 63 lakh pensioners. However, no announcement has been made by the government regarding DA Hike yet. But according to media reports, the Center can give gifts to its employees and pensioners before Holi. Please tell here that there has been a rule to increase DA / DR by the Central Government from the beginning of January to the end of July every year. However, there has been a delay in the last few years.

This will be the calculation after the DA increase

. Now once again it is expected to increase by four percent. If we look at the salary, then if the basic pay of a central employee is Rs 1,8000, then at the rate of 38 per cent, dearness allowance of Rs 6,840 is made. On the other hand, if this DA becomes 42 percent, then the DA of the employee will increase to Rs 7,560.

If we look at the maximum basic pay, then the dearness allowance on the basis of Rs 56,000 becomes Rs 21,280. Now if it is seen according to the increase of four percent, then it will jump to Rs.23,520. According to this, employees with minimum basic salary will get a benefit of Rs 720 every month and Rs 8,640 annually. On the other hand, the salary of employees with maximum basic salary will see an increase of Rs 2,240 every month, which will be Rs 26,880 annually.

That’s why the expectation increased among the employees

, according to media reports, the CPI-IW for December 2022 released to the employee organizations in the month of January was 132.3. According to this, an increase of more than four per cent is expected in the dearness allowance. Such expectation of increase in DA/DR has also intensified because the Narendra Modi government at the center can announce gifts for the central employees before the Lok Sabha elections to be held in the year 2024. Although, this update is according to the news released in the media, but the final decision on this has to be taken by the government.

The post DA/DR Hike: Central employees will get gift before Holi? 4% hike in DA expected first appeared on Rightsofemployees.com.

DA DR Hike: The Tripura government has given great news to the employees of the state before the new year. Under this, there has been a tremendous increase in the Dearness Allowance (DA) and Dearness Relief (DR) of the employees.

Tripura CM Manik Saha has announced a 12 percent increase in Dearness Allowance (DA) and Dearness Relief (DR) for state government employees and pensioners. State government employees and pensioners are happy with this announcement made by the government.

The increase will be applicable from 1 December This increase made by the government will be applicable from 1 December. That is, the salary of the employees who will get on December 31 will come with 20 percent DA. With this increase, the DA of state government employees has increased from 8 percent to 20 percent.

Saha said during the press conference, ‘This decision will benefit 1,04,600 permanent employees and 80,800 pensioners. An announcement has also been made by the government for temporary employees. The government has almost doubled their remuneration by increasing it.

The state government revised the salary structure.

The Chief Minister said that increasing the DA/DR by 12 per cent would put an additional burden of Rs 120 crore on the state government every month. This is an additional burden of Rs 1,440 crore on an annual basis. Saha said that despite the paucity of resources, the state government has revised the pay structure. This will benefit lakhs of employees and their families. Let us tell you that assembly elections are to be held in the Northeast in February.

Apart from this, the employees and pensioners of the central government are also going to get the gift of DA and DR hike in the new year. Right now the DA of central employees is 38 percent. In the coming time, the government can increase it by 4 percent. With this it will increase to 42 percent.
