Terminal-1 of Delhi Airport, equipped with world-class facilities, is ready. Flight operations will begin from here next month. All flights operating from Terminal-2 will be shifted here. About 280 aircraft will be shifted to this terminal, including Akasa and Indigo.

More than 46,000 passengers will travel through it every day. It was dedicated to the nation in March last year. Under the plan, the combined area of Terminal-1 arrival and departure terminals has been increased from 55,740 sqm to 206,950 sqm.

Videh Kumar Jaipuriar, CEO of Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL), said that Terminal-1 of the airport will be fully operational from April 15. This is an important step in efforts to improve passenger experience and support the growing demand for air travel. All flights currently operating from T-2 will be shifted to T-1.

Better facilities will be provided to every passenger. The roof of this terminal collapsed in June last year. One person died and 8 people were injured in the accident. Many vehicles were buried. After this, it was closed and rebuilt. Now it will look in a new form.

Delhi International Airport New Facility: There is great news for passengers traveling to different destinations in the country and abroad from Delhi Airport. Self-drop baggage system has been started at Delhi Airport, after which the time taken by passengers from check-in to getting baggage tag and boarding pass will be reduced to only 30 seconds.

Delhi International Airport has become the first airport in the country where passengers are getting the benefit of this self drop baggage mechanism. The new process will help passengers to unload their luggage faster, get baggage tag and print boarding pass in just 30 seconds. Earlier this time was 1 minute which has been reduced to half.

Where and for which airlines this facility was available

Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) has provided this facility at Terminal 1 and Terminal 3 of the airport and has deployed 50 self-service baggage drop units for this. Through this, air passengers of Air India, Air India Express and Indigo will get the benefit of this quick check-in process.

How do automatic self-drop baggage machines work?

You will need to collect and attach their bag tags at the CUSS kiosk located at the airport.

The bags are then placed on a Self-Baggage Drop (SBD) conveyor belt.

The system will open the airline’s application on the SBD machine with a single click.

Air travellers will have to sign a self-declaration form.

The self-baggage drop system will check all the necessary criteria and commercial rules given by the airlines.

As soon as the verification is completed, the passenger’s luggage will be processed automatically.

This is a one-step process where the need for boarding pass or biometric validation is eliminated as these details are already available on the baggage tag.

Delhi airport became India’s first and the world’s second airport

Delhi Airport has become the first airport in the country and the second airport in the world to provide such service. Let us tell you that similar facility is also available in Toronto, Canada.

The post Airport New Facility: Self-baggage drop facility launched at Delhi airport, to reduce check-in time first appeared on Rightsofemployees.com.
