When was this scheme announced?

PM Modi announced several schemes and projects in Delhi on the 17th of last month. Among those schemes, one was for Delhi’s senior citizens. Under this scheme, 50,000 senior citizens will receive a new pension.

How much old-age pension is available in Delhi?

70 or more 2500 rupees 3000 rupees Rs 500 (only for SC/ST/minority category)

 

Unable to apply

Following PM Modi’s announcement, many elderly people tried to apply for this scheme. However, they are currently unable to do so. According to sources, the government is making some technical changes to the website before resuming the application process. Once these are complete, people will be able to apply for pension online by visiting the e-district portal.

How many elderly people will get pension?
When announcing the scheme, PM Modi clearly stated that only 50,000 applications would be accepted. These applications would be distributed across Delhi’s 70 assembly constituencies, providing approximately 650 to 700 applicants per constituency.
