										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>New Delhi. If you are a customer of public sector Bank of Baroda, then there is good news for you. Actually, Bank of Baroda on Saturday started the CBDC UPI QR Interoperability function on the Digital Rupee App for its users.</strong></p>
<p>Through this service of the bank, transactions can be done between customers and shopkeepers without any hindrance. Customers will be able to use the Bank of Baroda Digital Rupee app to scan any UPI QR at merchant outlets and transact. Additionally, merchants can now take digital rupee payments from customers using their existing QR payment acceptance terminals without joining as a CBDC merchant.</p>
<p><strong><span>Promoting use of digital rupee<br />
</span></strong><br />
<span>Joydeep Dutta Roy, Executive Director, Bank of Baroda, said, “CBDC UPI QR interoperability will accelerate the adoption of digital rupee among customers and provide a comprehensive payment acceptance infrastructure to promote the use of digital rupee among merchants. . Customers can now use the digital currency present in their Digital Rupee wallet and scan it to make payments on any UPI QR code. Similarly, merchants only need to show their existing QR code, which can accept payments in both CBDC and UPI.</span></p>

<p>In a conversation with reporters here on Thursday, RBI Deputy Governor T Ravi Shankar said that the central bank has also planned to increase the number of users of e-rupee ie CBDC to 1 million by the end of this month.</p>
<p><strong>Pilot test of digital rupee started</strong></p>
<p>Along with this, Shankar has said that RBI has also planned to adjust the QR code of CBDC with Unified Payments System (UPI). The Reserve Bank had conducted a pilot test last year regarding the use of digital rupee. In the initial phase, wholesale use of CBDC was tested and later retail use was also tested.</p>
<p><strong>UPI has become very popular</strong></p>
<p>The Reserve Bank wants to use the UPI platform which has become very popular for payments among the people, also for the QR code of CBDC. Shankar, however, said that the RBI has not fixed any timeline for the general use of CBDC and will gradually move in this direction.</p>
<p><strong>What is Digital Rupee?</strong></p>
<p>Let us tell you that digital rupee is the electronic form of notes and coins. After the introduction of e-rupee, you will not need to keep coins. The only difference is that you will have to do this transaction online i.e. digitally. Digital Rupee is based on blockchain technology.</p>
<p>In which cities the digital rupee will be available</p>
<p>The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has talked about making digital rupee available through 8 banks of the pilot project. Let us tell you that in the first phase this facility will start in Mumbai, New Delhi, Bengaluru and Bhubaneswar. 										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>Digital Rupee: Reserve Bank Governor Shaktikanta Das has made a big announcement for the common customers. RBI said that after two days, the facility of transaction in E-rupee will be started for common customers.</strong></p>
<p>The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has announced the launch of a pilot project of Digital Rupee at the retail level. RBI has informed that it will bring a pilot project for Retail Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) from December 1.</p>
<p><strong>RBI gave information</strong></p>
<p>According to the information given by RBI, on December 1, retail will launch the first batch for Digital Rupee (e₹-R). The digital rupee will be in the form of a digital token, which will remain legal tender. The digital rupee will be issued in the same denominations in which paper currency and coins are currently issued. RBI has informed that on December 1, this test will be done at selected places in the Closed User Group (CUG). This will include both the customer and the bank merchant. Right now 4 banks have been included in this.</p>
<p><strong>Know how the transaction will happen</strong></p>
<p>RBI said that merchants can be paid using QR codes at merchant establishments. Users will be able to transact with e-R (e₹-R) through digital wallets offered by partner banks and stored on the mobile phone. Transactions Person to Person (P2P) and Person to Merchant (P2M) can be both.</p>
<p><strong>These four banks were included</strong></p>
<p>Let us tell you that four banks including State Bank of India and ICICI Bank will be included in this test, which will be tested in Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru and Bhubaneswar. Let us tell you that the digital rupee will be distributed through banks and users will be able to transact in e-rupee through digital wallets offered by banks participating in the pilot test. That is, the customers of these banks will get its benefit.</p>
