IndiGo is going to start direct flights to eight cities of India from Hindon in Ghaziabad in UP. InterGlobe Aviation Limited has announced this through a press release on Thursday. According to the statement issued, IndiGo has started direct flights from Hindon to Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Indore, Kolkata, Mumbai, Patna and Varanasi from July 20, 2025. This is the second airport connecting the airline in the National Capital Region.

More than 70 flights will be operated in a week

Vinay Malhotra, Head of Global Sales, IndiGo, said, “Our expansion at Hindon is a strategic move, providing an additional gateway for millions of people across the wider region. With over 70 weekly flights to eight major cities, our endeavour is to enhance travel convenience, promote business mobility and drive economic growth.” Vinay Malhotra further added, “India’s ever-evolving airport infrastructure allows us to offer convenient flight options and better connections.”

Convenience for East Delhi and Western Uttar Pradesh

Let us tell you that IndiGo currently operates more than 1500 weekly flights from Delhi, connecting more than 85 destinations on its network. Hindon is IndiGo’s 93rd domestic and 136th overall station. The launch by the company aims to bring more travel options and connectivity to the residents of Ghaziabad, East Delhi and other parts of Western Uttar Pradesh.

Connectivity will get a boost

The company chose Hindon due to its strategic location and proximity to key economic regions such as Noida and East Delhi, which the firm said is a pivotal point for commerce and connectivity. The area was also considered due to its industrial estates, educational institutions and growing residential areas.

What is the opinion of analysts?

Shares of InterGlobe Aviation closed 0.04% lower at Rs 5,271 on the NSE, while the benchmark Nifty declined 0.08%. The stock has gained 24.67% in the past 12 months and 15.74% on a year-to-date basis. According to Bloomberg data, out of 23 analysts tracking the company, 19 have a ‘buy’ rating on the stock, two have advised ‘hold’ and as many have ‘sell’ advice. The average of 12-month analysts’ price targets suggests a potential upside of 14%.

According to the airline’s official website, the one-way fare for a direct flight from Mumbai to Seychelles for March 25 ranges from ₹14,468 to ₹16,164. The flight will depart from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (T2) in Mumbai at 10:05 am on March 25 and reach Seychelles at 1:10 pm.

Operation of widebody Boeing 787-9 aircraft

IndiGo will begin operating a leased widebody Boeing 787-9 aircraft on the Delhi-Bangkok route from March 1. The airline will also explore opportunities to lease more aircraft. To meet the growing air traffic demand, the airline has temporarily inducted a Boeing 787-9 aircraft from Norse Atlantic before taking delivery of A321XLRs, which have longer range, and A350s.

Domestic airline IndiGo, which is gearing up to launch flights to Europe, on Wednesday said it will add three more Boeing 787-9 aircraft to its fleet as part of a deal with Norse Atlantic Airways. Currently, the Gurugram-headquartered airline operates two wide-body Boeing 777 aircraft leased from Turkish Airlines on flights from Delhi and Mumbai to Istanbul.

Star Air will connect Hyderabad and Lucknow to Jharsuguda and Raipur from January 1. According to PTI news, regional airline Star Air gave this information on Wednesday. According to the report, the announcement of adding new destinations to the network comes after the airline recently announced plans to expand its fleet to 25 aircraft in the next three years, as part of its plan to boost last-mile connectivity in tier-2 and tier-3 cities in the country. The airline currently has a fleet of nine aircraft, including four Embraer E175 and five Embraer E145. These aircraft position it well for future growth and connectivity.

According to the airline, operations to Bangkok will commence on December 20, 2024, with direct flights connecting Surat and Pune to the Thai capital. The airline has also strengthened its domestic network with the launch of flights to Dimapur and Patna, providing daily direct connectivity between Dimapur and Guwahati and Patna and Bengaluru and Hyderabad.

Airline company Air India Express has announced to increase flights from three destinations of Northeast Guwahati, Agartala and Imphal under its winter schedule. This is part of the program of the airline providing budget flights to expand winter services across the country. The airline informed in a statement that it has been decided to increase flights from North-East.

Which cities will the airline connect with the new services

It provides direct connectivity to eight domestic destinations namely Agartala, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Imphal, Jaipur and Kolkata. The airline also provides one-stop connectivity to 18 domestic destinations and six international destinations from Guwahati. Since adding Agartala as a station in September 2024, the airline has increased its weekly flights from 14 to 21. It connects two destinations i.e. Guwahati and Kolkata directly. Apart from this, the airline also provides one-stop connectivity to 11 domestic destinations from Agartala.

Number of weekly flights increased from 63 to 106

Air India Express has increased its flight operations from Guwahati to 106 weekly flights from 63 last winter. The statement said that in Imphal, the airline has increased its weekly flights to 34 this season, which is 20 more than last winter.
