Digi Yatra has introduced a major update that gives air travelers more flexibility while using its contactless airport services. The digital airport platform now allows passengers to use their Driving Licence as a verified identity credential alongside Aadhaar.

The new feature enables travelers to securely fetch their Driving Licence through DigiLocker and add it to the Digi Yatra Wallet, offering another government-issued identity option for airport verification.

Driving Licence Now Supported on Digi Yatra

Until now, most passengers registered on Digi Yatra using their Aadhaar details.

With the latest update, users can now:

• Register using either Aadhaar or a Driving Licence
• Add a Driving Licence through DigiLocker
• Store both Aadhaar and Driving Licence in the Digi Yatra Wallet
• Choose either document as their Primary Credential

The selected primary credential is used to match the passenger’s identity with the name printed on the boarding pass.

Can You Use Digi Yatra Without Aadhaar?

Yes.

New users are no longer required to register using Aadhaar. They can now complete the registration process with a Driving Licence linked through DigiLocker.

Existing Aadhaar users can continue using Aadhaar or simply add their Driving Licence and switch it as their preferred identity credential whenever required.

Passengers who have both credentials can choose which one they want to use as their Primary Credential for airport verification.

It is also working on introducing passport-based verifiable credentials, which could eventually support international passenger verification using the same privacy-focused identity system.
