Bihar Free Electricity Scheme: Under the government’s new scheme, customers with smart prepaid meters will no longer need to recharge for electricity consumption up to 125 units per month.

The electricity supply of such customers will continue without any interruption. However, if the consumer has outstanding bills, then it will be mandatory for them to recharge, so that the adjustment amount of the old dues can be deducted.

Under this scheme, consumers with postpaid meters will also get relief. While preparing the electricity bill, the consumption of 125 units will not be added, that is, if the monthly consumption of the consumer is not more than 125 units, then he will get a zero bill.

1.86 crore consumers will benefit from the government’s new scheme

According to official information released by the power company, the Bihar government has recently announced to provide 100% subsidized electricity to all domestic electricity consumers up to 125 units. This will benefit about 1.86 crore consumers, out of which 1.67 crore consumers are those who consume only up to 125 units of electricity every month.

The new system will also not charge fixed charges, which will save these consumers a single penny. This will bring great relief to poor and middle class families who are worried about electricity costs.

Prepaid meter consumers will get electricity without recharge

Consumers with smart prepaid meters will continue to get electricity even if they do not recharge, provided their consumption is limited to 125 units. This decision is a major step towards making the digital billing process simple and customer-friendly.

Those consuming more than 125 units will still get subsidy.

If a consumer’s monthly consumption is more than 125 units, they will continue to get electricity at the same subsidized rates as before. However, they will have to pay some amount, but that too will be at a very concessional rate.

New rates and subsidies for rural areas

The Bihar Electricity Regulatory Commission has fixed a rate of Rs 7.42 per unit for rural consumers. Out of this, the power company is giving a subsidy of Rs 4.97 per unit, due to which consumers will have to pay only Rs 2.15 per unit for consuming more than 125 units of electricity.

Big relief for urban consumers too

Even in urban areas, those consuming up to 125 units will not have to pay bills. Earlier, urban consumers used to pay Rs 4.12 per unit for 1 to 100 units, but now they will get zero bills. If the consumption is more than 125 units, they will have to pay the bill as per the other slab.

Second slab and subsidy available in it

In the second slab, the rate has been fixed at Rs 8.95 per unit. In this, the government will give a subsidy of Rs 3.43 per unit, due to which the consumer will have to pay only Rs 5.52 per unit. In this way, the entire consumer will still get the benefit of huge discounts.

How To Reduce Electricity Bill- It is common for electricity bills to increase in summer due to AC, fans and kitchen appliances. In such a situation, we need to use them wisely so that electricity can be saved and there is no extra burden on the pocket. If you are using AC, then choose the option of inverter AC.

It consumes less electricity than a normal AC. Its specialty is that it adjusts the speed of its compressor according to the room temperature, which reduces electricity consumption. Inverter ACs with a 5 star rating are more efficient.

Often people keep the fan on even when they are not in the room. This habit increases the electricity bill. Only run the fan when you are in the room and maintain it regularly so that the motor runs properly and consumes less electricity.

Appliances like microwaves, toasters or ovens consume a lot of electricity, especially when left on standby mode. They should be switched off at the main switch after use. Now is the time to say goodbye to old light bulbs and appliances. Appliances like LED bulbs, 5-star rated refrigerators and smart washing machines can save thousands of rupees annually.

Little things like not removing your phone charger, leaving your TV on standby, or turning on unnecessary lights during the day – all add up to electricity bills. With a little caution and awareness, you can reduce your monthly electricity bill to a great extent.

No matter how rich or poor one is, everyone can be seen getting bothered by the rising electricity bills. If the heat is too much, then the electronics like AC, refrigerator and cooler in the house consume a lot of electricity. In winter, more electricity is consumed to keep the house warm.

In such a time, if a technology can generate more and cheaper electricity from the rooftops of our homes, would it be anything less than a miracle? You will say that this can be done by installing solar panels, what is the miracle in that? But believe me, a miracle-like technology has been created and that too in India.

In fact, scientists at IIT Bombay have developed a new solar cell with their hard work that can generate about 25-30 percent more electricity than the conventional technology so far. Currently, solar panels convert about 20 percent of energy into electricity, with the new technology this capacity has reached 30 percent. This will not only generate more electricity, but its cost will also be significantly reduced. Currently, the cost of a unit of solar energy is between Rs 2.5 to Rs 4, while with this technology this cost can come down to just Rs 1 per unit.

The material used in tandem solar cells is being produced in India…

According to a report in the Indian Express, this work has been made possible by Professor Dinesh Kabra and his team. This team is working at the National Centre for Photovoltaic Research and Education (NCPRE) of IIT Bombay. They have created a special type of solar cell, which is called a “tandem solar cell”. In this, a special material called ‘halide perovskite’ has been used in the upper layer, which generates better electricity even in very low light. The lower layer contains silicon, which is already used. Both together form a combination, which generates more electricity.

This technology is not only effective, but the raw materials used in it are also available in India. Till now, the materials used in solar panels had to be imported from countries like China. The materials used in the new technology will be made in India itself and will reduce India’s dependence on countries like China. Earlier, the biggest drawback of perovskite was that its life was very short, but the team from IIT Bombay has made it sustainable for 10 years. This is also a big achievement in the field of energy.

A huge responsibility on the shoulders of the Maharashtra government and IIT Bombay

The responsibility of bringing this technology to the ground has now been taken by ART-PV India Private Limited, a startup associated with the Maharashtra government and IIT Bombay. They are working to fully prepare it for the market by December 2027. Behind this startup is the same Professor Kabra, who has developed this technology. The special thing is that the machines and equipment for this will be made in India.

This technology will not be limited to large solar farms, but can also be installed on the roof of houses, vehicle roofs and walls of buildings. That is, more electricity in less space and more savings. Not only this, IIT Bombay and the Maharashtra government are also going to use this technology to produce ‘green hydrogen’ i.e. clean and environment-friendly hydrogen, which is very important for future energy needs.

This increase has been made under the Power Adjustment Cost (PPAC), which the Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission (DERC) has given permission to all the three electricity distribution companies (DISCOMs) to collect from the customers.

PPAC is an amount collected from power generation companies due to the increase in the prices of fuels like coal and gas. It is added as a percentage on the fixed charge and energy charge (i.e. unit consumed) of the electricity bill.

Discom gets approval…

BRPL has been allowed to charge 7.25%, BYPL 8.11% TPDDL 10.47% PPAC. After this decision, lakhs of Delhi consumers will have to pay heavy electricity bills in summer. United Residents of Delhi (URD) has criticized this decision as arbitrary and legally wrong.

He also asked why PPAC rates are kept different for different DISCOMs while the price of fuel is almost the same. Without PPAC recovery, DISCOMs may face financial crisis. This increase is sure to increase the burden on the pockets of Delhi’s electricity consumers, especially during this summer season when electricity consumption is at its highest.

The post Electricity Bill: Big shock to the common people!

Free Electricity: The Himachal Pradesh government has made it clear that the domestic electricity consumers of the state will continue to get free electricity up to 125 units per month as before. The government has released new rates of electricity subsidy, ending uncertainty and speculation on the issue.

The state government has announced that around 22 lakh domestic consumers will continue to get subsidy. However, after the Electricity Regulatory Commission reduced the tariffs by 15 paise per unit, the subsidy amount has also been reduced slightly in the same proportion. However, the tariffs already fixed for 2024-25 will continue to be applicable this year as well.

Consumers who consume more than 300 units of electricity per month will no longer get any major relief. The government has removed the subsidy of ₹ 1 per unit being given to this category of consumers. Now these consumers will have to pay the full price of electricity at ₹ 5.90 per unit.

Energy Secretary Rakesh Kanwar has issued instructions to the Managing Director of the Electricity Board, Sandeep Kumar in this regard. According to the new orders, electricity bills for the consumption of the month of April will be issued in May as per these new rates.

Relief to commercial and industrial consumers

This time relief has been given not only to domestic but also to commercial and industrial consumers. Commercial rates have been reduced by 12 paise per unit and industrial rates by 20 paise per unit. However, no change has been made in the fixed demand charge.

Electricity Bill Alert: The Jammu and Kashmir government has extended the amnesty scheme for payment of old electricity bill dues till March 2026. This is the last chance for consumers. Under which they will have to pay their old dues in monthly installments.

The Electricity Corporation has warned that if consumers fail to pay more than one installment, their electricity connection may be disconnected. Even if they are paying their existing bills regularly. This decision has been taken with the aim of alerting consumers during the summer season.

Electricity bill will be reviewed every month

Now the electricity bill will not be reviewed at the end of the financial year. Rather it will be done every month. The Jammu and Kashmir administration has directed the electricity corporation to include the revenue collection system in the regular process. So that timely action can be taken on the arrears (Electricity Bill Alert).

The administration has also made it clear that if any officer or employee is negligent in collecting revenue, departmental action will be taken against him. The Power Development Department has already converted consumers in areas with smart meters to the prepaid system.

Now consumers will have to pay electricity bills regularly every month. Apart from this, the installments of outstanding bills issued under the amnesty scheme will also have to be deposited on time. In case of default in any installment, the department will take action. According to the spokesperson of the Electricity Corporation, about 8 to 9 thousand crore rupees are spent on purchasing electricity in Jammu and Kashmir every year. Despite this, the failure to collect the full fixed revenue (Electricity Bill Alert) is a matter of concern. The outstanding amount is said to be more than 400 crore rupees.

Lucknow. Electricity consumers in Uttar Pradesh have been shocked by the cost of expensive electricity. After about five years, Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited has secretly increased the electricity bill.

Now in the bill for the month of April, all consumers will have to pay 1.24% more electricity bill. Actually, UPPCL has made this increase as fuel surcharge.

With the increase in this fuel surcharge, your electricity bill will either increase or decrease every month on the lines of diesel and petrol. In simple language, your electricity bill will increase or decrease according to the load you have. The way this load surcharge has been imposed from April, it is not going to reduce your bill because the way the heat has increased and there is a possibility of it increasing further in the coming days, the bill will be higher and your pocket will be lighter. For example, if your bill in March is Rs 1000, then you will have to pay Rs 12.40 extra as fuel surcharge.

It is worth noting that recently the Uttar Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission had given the power companies the right to fix fuel and power purchase adjustment surcharge every month under the Multi Year Tariff Regulation- 2025. Under
this right received from this commission, for the first time in the state, an order has been given to collect fuel surcharge from consumers.

Electricity Consumer Council will protest

However, the Electricity Consumer Council has opposed the increase in electricity bill. UP Electricity Consumer Council President Awadhesh Verma said that UPPCL owes Rs 33122 crore to consumers. And UPPCL has increased this amount without returning the money of consumers. UP State Electricity Consumer Council will oppose this.

If you are also using two to three coolers in your house and are getting high electricity bills every month, then we are going to tell you about some great ways with the help of which you can save electricity.

The summer season is going on. According to the Meteorological Department, the effect of heat will increase even more in the coming months. Apart from this, people may also have to face heat wave. Due to this, people adopt many measures to get relief from the scorching heat. To get relief from the heat, many people use 2 to 3 coolers in their homes. However, the electricity bill comes higher when 2 to 3 coolers are used in the house.

This has a bad effect on people’s pockets. Due to this, people get very upset and start thinking whether to save electricity or get rid of the heat. If you are also using two to three coolers in your homes and getting a high electricity bill every month, then we are going to tell you about some great ways, with the help of which you can save electricity. Let’s know –

Many times a lot of dirt gets accumulated in the cooler. Due to this its air flow reduces. This reduces the performance and working capacity of the cooler. In such a situation the cooler consumes more electricity.

For this reason, you should keep cleaning the cooler at a fixed time. Apart from this, you should also change the cooler’s grass at regular intervals. By doing this, the performance of the cooler will be good and it will consume less electricity.

Nowadays, many types of modern coolers have come in the market, in which you get many smart features. These coolers consume less electricity than traditional coolers. Therefore, you can also buy these coolers from the market to save electricity.

You can also use solar panels to run coolers. You will have to consult an expert to find out which cooler is installed in your house and how many watts of solar panel will be required for it.

Electricity Bill: Electricity has become cheaper in Punjab. A new tariff has been issued regarding electricity rates in Punjab. The tariff has been issued for the year 2025-26. The government has issued new rates. This time, it has been reduced from three slabs to two.

These rates will be applicable from April 1. In this, the rate slabs for all categories have been reduced from three to two. Earlier, there were three slabs for domestic consumers based on 0 to 100, 101 to 300 and above 300. But now there will be only two slabs 0 to 300 and above 300. Similarly, in another category, there will now be only two slabs 0 to 500 and above 500.

Under the new slab announced by the commission, consumers with meters with a load of two kilowatts will have to pay Rs 5.30 per unit up to 300 units and Rs 7.75 per unit above 300. The fixed charges will be Rs 160 per month. Similarly, consumers under the household category with a load of 2 to 7 kilowatts will now have to pay Rs 5.72 per unit up to 300 units and Rs 7.75 per unit above 300.

Fixed charges will be Rs 90 per month. Similarly, under the electricity load of 7 to 20 kW, Rs 6.44 per unit will have to be paid for 0 to 300 units and Rs 7.75 per unit above 300. Fixed charges will have to be paid by Rs 32 less than earlier. For 500 kW electricity load of non-domestic areas like shops and schools, now Rs 6.89 will have to be paid for up to 500 units and Rs 7.75 per unit for units above 500.

The new tariff does not impose any additional burden on electricity consumers, but rather reduces electricity rates. For example, consumers with two kilowatts who used to pay Rs 1781 for up to 300 units will now pay Rs 1620. Whereas consumers with two kilowatts who used to pay Rs 1806 for up to 300 units will now pay Rs 1716. Similarly, consumers with 7 kilowatts to 20 kilowatts who used to pay Rs 1964 for up to 300 units will now pay Rs 1932.

Now people in Punjab have started getting electricity bills in Punjabi language as well. Earlier, the bill slip was available only in English. Now the department is printing bills in Punjabi language along with English and giving them to the people.

It is noteworthy that during the hearing of the writ petition demanding issuance of electricity bills in Punjabi language, the Punjab government informed the Punjab-Haryana High Court that this provision has been implemented since December 26, while now electricity bills are coming in both Punjabi and English languages.

In this writ, while demanding printing of bills in Punjabi, it was said that people in the villages of the state face difficulty in understanding electricity bills due to lack of knowledge of English. In view of which, the Punjab government started printing electricity bills in both languages.

Azamgarh : Now there will be a ban on the fake settlement of complaints made by consumers on the toll free number of the electricity department. Departmental engineers will no longer be able to settle electricity complaints fraudulently.

To stop complaints being closed without settlement or settlement of complaints fraudulently, the government is implementing the OTP system. Electricity companies will submit the plan to implement the OTP system to the Uttar Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission within 3 months.

OTP will be received on the registered mobile number.

After this new system, if the complaints made by consumers are not resolved properly, then the complaints made by them online or on toll free number cannot be closed. After complete resolution of the complaints, if the consumer expresses satisfaction with the resolution process, only then the complaint registered through OTP will be considered resolved. The OTP of the complaints made by the consumer will be received on their registered mobile number, which will have to be shared after complete resolution of the problem.

In the order of Annual Revenue Requirement (ARR) of the electricity company, the Electricity Regulatory Commission has asked to implement the OTP system in resolving 1912 complaints. Consumer Complex President Awadhesh Kumar Verma expressed his gratitude to the Regulatory Commission for fulfilling this demand of the council. He said that in this system, consumers will also be able to get compensation easily.

Electricity bill will also be received through electronic medium

. Self generated OTP will be issued on the registered mobile number of the consumer immediately after the complaint. After the complaint is resolved, the consumer will be informed whether his complaint has been resolved or not, only after that it can be closed. With this new system, the resolution of complaints will also be correct and if the complaints are not resolved on time, the consumer will be able to claim compensation. Apart from this, all the electricity companies have also been directed by the commission to send the bill to the consumers through their registered email, WhatsApp or other electronic means.

Electricity Bill: If you are troubled by the increased electricity bill then there is no need to worry now. We are giving you some such tips. Through which your upcoming electricity bill will be reduced to half. For this it is very important to follow some rules. Fans and ACs consume the most electricity. In such a situation, fans of a good company should be used.

Electricity Bill: Nowadays everyone wants the electricity bill to be low. But this is not possible. Many people are troubled by increased electricity bills. They remain confused as to how to reduce the electricity bill? As soon as the huge electricity bill comes every month, the tension increases. However, our work cannot run without electricity. The reason for this is that there are many such everyday things like fan, fridge, TV, heater, washing machine, cooler, AC. Without which survival is not possible. Due to the use of all these, the electricity bill starts increasing.

There are many such measures to reduce electricity bills. By following which you can save a huge amount. Here we are telling you some solutions. With this you can easily reduce your electricity bill to half.

Install LED bulb in home

To reduce the electricity bill, you should remove the tube lights in the house and install LED bulbs. LED bulbs of capacity ranging from 2 watts to 40 watts are available in the market. Which you can buy as per your need. Using these devices reduces electricity consumption. This can improve your electricity bill. Whereas if the fridge remains empty then more electricity is consumed. Therefore, you should always keep fruits and vegetables in the refrigerator. Also, keeping the fridge always on normal mode saves electricity. Many people leave the lights on in the house while sleeping at night. This unnecessarily increases the electricity bill, hence always sleep with bulbs and lights switched off. Ensure that no bulb is burning unnecessarily.

Remove old fan and install BLDS fan

If there are old fans installed in your house, they should be replaced immediately. These fans are of 100 to 140 watts. Whereas now new technology BLDS fans have arrived in the market. These are up to 40 watts and their electricity consumption will be greatly reduced.

Solar panel

Use solar energy generated from solar panels. With this, we can meet the electricity consumption in the house. By installing solar panels, you can reduce your electricity bill throughout the day. Subsidy on purchase of solar panels is also provided by the government.

Use inverter AC

If you have normal window or split AC in your house, then you should remove it and get inverter AC installed immediately. Inverter AC reduces electricity bill. Actually, such a system is provided in inverter AC. Which reduces electricity consumption.

The post Electricity Bill: Electricity bill will be halved, there will be huge savings, adopt these tricks first appeared on Rightsofemployees.com.

Govt Reintroduces One-Time Power Bills: The government has made a big announcement regarding the electricity bill. Giving relief to the consumers, the government has offered one time settlement.

In fact, the Goa government has come up with an offer for electricity consumers, under which the government has brought back the one-time settlement scheme for payment of pending electricity bills with a validity of six months. The government has given information about this.

Chief Minister made a big announcement

Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, the state cabinet has made a relief announcement for electricity consumers in the cabinet meeting on Wednesday. The Chief Minister said that the decision to restart the One-Time Settlement (OTS) scheme for electricity bills has been approved. The target of this scheme is to collect Rs 402 crore of pending electricity dues. The government has given great relief to the consumers with this decision.

Big relief to electricity consumers

Pramod Sawant said, ‘This scheme will be applicable for the next six months.’ Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said, ‘This scheme was started in the beginning of this year, but at that time many people did not take advantage of it. There are 17,801 consumers under this scheme whose electricity bills are pending. After this, the government had to re-approve this scheme to recover the outstanding electricity bills.

Government approved the plan

After the cabinet meeting, State Energy Minister Sudin Dhavalikar while talking to the media said that this scheme has been resumed after the request of electricity consumers.
