Citing the order of the Finance Department, the official said that the state government has also decided to approve an interest-free advance of up to a maximum of Rs 20,000 for employees with a monthly salary of more than Rs 52,000 in March.

Bonus amount increased this year

According to the news, the West Bengal government has decided to give ad hoc bonus to a section of state government employees at a time when a section of government employees is protesting demanding dearness allowance. By March 31, 2025, employees whose monthly salary is Rs 44,000 or less will get an ad hoc bonus of Rs 6,800. In the year 2024, their ad hoc bonus was Rs 6,000. Then the upper limit of salary was 42 thousand per month.

Increase in festival advance amount also

The festival advance amount has also increased compared to last year. People whose monthly salary is between Rs 44,000 and Rs 52,000 will get Rs 20,000 as festival advance this year. Last year the salary range was Rs 42,000 to Rs 50,000 per month. The state government has also announced festival allowance for retired government employees. Those who have retired and are going to retire by March 31, 2025, will get this festival allowance.

Community health workers will get Rs 12,000 and ‘balwadi’ or kindergarten teachers and helpers will get Rs 5,000 as “Bhabhi gift”, it said.

CM Shinde said that all kindergarten teachers and Asha workers in the state will also be given a bonus. This will be Rs 3,000 more than last year. On November 8 last year, Shinde had announced a Diwali bonus of Rs 26,000 for BMC employees.

Voting for the 288-member Maharashtra Assembly will be held in a single phase on November 20, while the counting of votes will take place on November 23.
