EPFO had earlier provided an online facility for submission of application for verification of option/joint option for pension at higher salary. Earlier, EPFO ​​had fixed September 30 as the last date for joint form validation to choose the option of higher pension.

This facility was for eligible pensioners/members in compliance with the Supreme Court order dated November 4, 2022. This facility was launched on February 26, 2023 and was to be available only till May 3, 2023. Subsequently, considering the representation of the employees, the deadline was extended till June 26, 2023 to provide full four months time to the eligible pensioners/members to file the application.

In view of the representations received from employers and employers’ associations requesting extension of time period for uploading salary details of applicant pensioners/members. Apart from this, employers were also given an additional period of three months to submit salary details etc. online till September 30, 2023.

5.52 lakh applications pending with applicants

Now, several representations have again been received from employers and employers’ associations requesting extension of further time period for uploading the salary details of the applicant pensioners/members. Let us inform that till September 29, 2023, 5.52 lakh applications for verification of option/combined option are still pending with the employers.

Deadline extended till 31st December

The request has been considered sympathetically and the Chairman, Central Board of Trustees has extended the time for employers to submit salary details etc. till December 31, 2023.
