This will benefit those who pass through NH toll, but there are many expressways and highways in the country on which you will have to pay toll as before. Let’s know which are these highways and expressways-

Many highways and expressways in the country are being built and operated by state governments or private companies under the BOT model. For example, Purvanchal Expressway, Bundelkhand Expressway, and Agra-Lucknow Expressway in Uttar Pradesh are under UPEIDA. Similarly, Mumbai-Nagpur Expressway (Samriddhi Mahamarg) in Maharashtra is also operated on BOT model by MSRDC. All these projects are separate from NHAI, so the new Fastag rule will not apply to them.

Uttar Pradesh

The Uttar Pradesh Expressway Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA) builds and operates most of the expressways in the state. In Uttar Pradesh: Ganga Expressway: Length: 594 km (Meerut to Prayagraj). This is a state government project, so the new Fastag rule will not apply to it. Apart from this, Purvanchal Expressway: Length: 340.8 km (Lucknow to Ghazipur), Bundelkhand Expressway: Length: 296 km (Chitrakoot to Etawah) Agra-Lucknow Expressway: Length: 302 km are included.

Maharashtra

Mumbai-Pune Expressway, also known as Yashwantrao Chavan Expressway, is operated by Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC). It is India’s first six-lane expressway, constructed under the Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) model. Since it does not come under NHAI. Length 94.5 km.

Mumbai-Nagpur Expressway (Samridhi Mahamarg) Length 701 km, Mumbai-Vadodara Expressway- Length: 379 km (Maharashtra part).

Karnataka

Karnataka Road Development Corporation Limited (KRDCL) and Public Works Department (PWD) manage the major projects. Bengaluru-Mysore Expressway- Length 119 km, Shivamogga-Haveri Expressway- Length: 200 km (approx) proposed,

Tamil Nadu

Tamil Nadu Road Development Company (TNRDC) and State Highways Department execute the major projects. Chennai-Bengaluru Expressway (TNRDC part)- Length: 262 km (Tamil Nadu part)

East Coast Road (ECR)- Length: 160 km (Chennai to Puducherry).

Gujarat

Gujarat State Road Development Corporation (GSRDC) handles several projects. Ahmedabad-Vadodara Expressway- Length: 93.1 km, Rajkot-Jamnagar Expressway: Length: 117 km

Other States

Andhra Pradesh: Amaravati–Anantapur Expressway (176 km, under construction).
Kerala: Kochi–Madurai Expressway (227 km, proposed).

The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has also issued its notification. The exemption will be available only up to 200 trips with ATP. Here the question arises that if a driver makes the 210th trip, will he have to pay toll or will there be any other option. Know-

According to NHAI, the cost of ATP will be Rs 3,000, with a validity of one year or a limit of 200 trips. The scheme will be applicable on national highways and expressways operated by NHAI. However, there are many expressways and state highways in the country where the new system will not be applicable. Drivers will have to keep this in mind.

What to do after completing 200 trips?

According to NHAI, this pass will be valid for one year or 200 trips. If someone plies the highway daily and completes 200 trips in four months, he will have to take ATP again. Thus, one can take three ATPs in a year. There is no limit to ATP. A driver can take as many ATPs as he wants. That is, as many ATPs as are required can be taken.

What happens if trips are less than 200?

If a driver takes ATP but travels less on national highways or expressways and thus 200 trips are not completed. Then the money left in ATP will neither be refunded nor transferred further. All the remaining money will be lost. Therefore, it will be beneficial to use it.
