Fastag Annual Pass 2025: Demand for the FASTag Annual Toll Pass has increased significantly for people traveling on highways and toll plazas across the country. It’s proving to be a profitable deal. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways said in a statement that the FASTag Annual Pass is receiving an overwhelming response. Over 2.5 million people have purchased it in the last two months, with 56.7 million transactions.

This annual pass was launched on August 15th. It applies to approximately 1,150 toll plazas located on national highways and national expressways. Key Points of the FASTag Annual Pass

Automatic Activation
The annual pass is activated with your existing FASTag within two hours of payment. Payment can be made through the Highway Travel app or the NHAI website.

Non-Transferable
This pass is non-transferable and is valid only at National Highway (NH) and National Expressway (NE) toll plazas.

FASTag rules will change from November 15th
FASTag rules are set to change from November 15th. The central government announced that starting November 15th, vehicles entering toll plazas without a valid FASTag will have to pay double the normal toll fee if they pay in cash. However, those paying using UPI will receive some relief. Vehicles entering toll plazas without a valid FASTag will only have to pay 1.25 times the toll fee if they choose to pay using the Unified Payment Interface (UPI).

Step-by-Step process to make a pass

1. Download Rajmarg Yatra App or visit NHAI website.
2. Login by entering mobile number or vehicle registration number (VRN).
3. Verify your existing FASTag (it must be active and linked to the vehicle).
4. Fill in the requested information and upload the required documents.
5. Pay Rs 3000 through UPI, debit/credit card or net banking.
6. Once the payment is confirmed, the pass will be activated on your FASTag within 2 to 24 hours.

These are the necessary documents

• RC- Vehicle registration certificate
• Passport size photo- Vehicle owner’s photo
• KYC documents- Aadhar card / PAN card / Voter ID
• ID proof- Aadhar card / Passport / Driving license
• Address proof- Ration card, Aadhar card, electricity bill, bank passbook etc.

The pass will not work on these expressways
This pass cannot be used on Yamuna Expressway, Agra-Lucknow Expressway, Purvanchal Expressway and Bundelkhand Expressway. Normal toll tax will have to be paid on these as before. This scheme will work only on those roads which are National Highways and National Expressways operated by NHAI.

You will get benefit on these highways
This pass will be valid on NHAI toll plazas and national highways. Private car, jeep and van owners can get a pass with validity of 200 trips or 1 year for Rs 3000. This will eliminate the hassle of frequent top-up and the journey will be completed easily at the toll.

How much savings will be there with this pass?
This pass costs Rs 3000 and includes 200 trips. One trip means crossing the toll plaza once. According to this, the cost per trip will be only Rs 15. Currently, paying toll 200 times costs about Rs 10,000. That is, vehicle owners will get a direct saving of about Rs 7000 with this scheme. The pass will be valid for 1 year, but if you make 200 trips before that, its validity will expire and you will have to get a new pass.
