Another big step has come in the direction of Digital India. The Ministry of Road Transport has announced the introduction of an annual Fastag pass for private car owners, which will give a big benefit to travelers in toll tax. If you travel frequently on the highway, then this news is very important for you.

What is the new FASTag Annual Pass?

The government is going to start a new facility from August 15, 2025, under which private car owners can get an annual pass by paying Rs 3000. With this pass, toll can be crossed a maximum of 200 times in a year, that is, an average toll of Rs 15 will be paid per trip. Whereas currently, the toll fee generally ranges from Rs 70 to Rs 150 per trip.

When and how to register?

The registration link will open from August 4, 2025. For registration, you can visit the ‘Rajasthan Yatra’ mobile app or the NHAI website. From there, you will also get information related to the validity and recharge of the pass.

30 banks will be associated with this scheme.

Recently, the ministry had called an important meeting to review the scheme. The participation of 30 banks has been decided in implementing this pass, so that the transaction and process can be made smooth.

Who will get the benefit?

Only private cars will get the benefit of this pass. Taxis, cabs, commercial or heavy vehicles are not included in this scheme. This pass will be very beneficial for those who travel frequently.

There is also a risk of FASTag being blacklisted

NHAI has also clarified that if the FASTag is not properly pasted on the vehicle’s windscreen, or a person scans the tag by holding it in hand, then that tag can be blacklisted. This will be considered ‘Tag-in-Hand’, which is against the rules.

How will 200 trips be counted?

Every time the vehicle passes through the toll plaza, it will be counted as one trip. The pass will be valid either for 1 year or till the completion of 200 trips, whichever is earlier. After this, a new pass will have to be taken or toll payment will have to be made.

The post Big news for FASTag users: New update on Rs 3000 Toll Pass, register from this date first appeared on Rightsofemployees.com.

FASTag Rules: If you also have a car and you often travel on the highway, then this news is useful for you. If you do not pay attention to the rules changed from today, then you may face problems on the highway at any time.

New rules have come into effect for FASTag users from August 1. National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) has issued new rules related to KYC.

It is necessary to complete KYC details by 31 October

According to the new rules, the companies which issued Fastag 3-5 years ago, will have to complete the KYC details of all Fastags by 31 October. This clearly means that it is necessary to update your KYC to avoid interruption in service. Apart from this, Fastags older than five years will also have to be replaced. Therefore, people who have old vehicles and have old Fastags installed on their cars will also have to take care of this.

It is necessary to link the registration number and chassis number.

It is necessary to link all Fastags to the vehicle’s registration number and chassis number. After this rule, the buyer of a new vehicle will have to update his registration number within 90 days. The companies providing Fastag will also have to upload clear photos of the front and side of the car to make identification of the vehicle easier.

Such people will have to pay double toll

Fastag should also be linked to a mobile number so that communication can be done easily and updates can be received. The last date for fulfilling all KYC rules related to Fastag is 31 October 2024. Earlier, news came that the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) has taken strict action against those who deliberately do not install Fastag on the windscreen of the car.

Under this, NHAI has tightened its grip on those who knowingly do not put Fastag on their vehicle’s windscreen. Those who do not have Fastag on their windscreen will now have to pay double the toll tax. Not only this, those who repeatedly violate Fastag rules can also be blacklisted.
