Visibility reduced due to rain, flight services affected

Due to heavy rain and strong winds, the visibility has become very low. Due to which air traffic has been affected. The aviation company Air India has issued an advisory for passengers and said that passengers must check the status of their flight before leaving for the airport. The company has apologized for the inconvenience due to the weather and has appealed to the passengers to be cautious.

Waterlogging and tree falling incidents

Waterlogging has occurred in many areas of the city, including Sion Circle, Dadar TT, Hindmata, JJ Post Office and Bindumadhav Junction in Worli. A total of 9 incidents of trees and branches falling have been reported to the BMC at 4 places in the city and 5 in the Western Suburbs.

Yellow alert for Mumbai and coastal districts

The Indian Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for coastal districts including Mumbai, Thane and Palghar. This means that there is a possibility of moderate to heavy rains in these areas, which may affect normal life.

Possibility of lightning and strong winds

There is a possibility of strong sea winds and lightning in coastal areas. The administration has appealed to the citizens to remain alert and avoid unnecessary travel.

People were evacuated from weak buildings

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) and MHADA have identified 96 dilapidated buildings in the city. These have been categorized as dangerous during monsoon. About 3100 people living in these buildings have been shifted to safer places.

Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) said in its statement, ‘As per the NOTAM issued for Republic Day from January 19 to 26, no flight will arrive or depart from Delhi airport between 10:20 am and 12:45 pm.

‘Contact the concerned airline’

Delhi airport operator DIAL said on Saturday that in view of the Republic Day week, no flights will arrive and depart between 10.20 am and 12.45 pm for the next eight days till January 26. DIAL has also suggested passengers to get more information about the flight. DIAL said, ‘For flight information, passengers are requested to contact the concerned airline.’

What is republic day parade

These states and union territories are – Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Chandigarh, Dadra Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu, Goa, Gujarat, Haryana, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Tripura, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal.

DGCA has given permission to fly

Recently, on Friday, July 21, Go First has been allowed by the aviation regulator DGCA to fly with conditions. However, despite this, GoFirst’s repeated postponement of its flight operations is an indication that all is not well for the company. Significantly, the insolvency resolution process is going on against Go First. The company had stopped its airlines from May 3.

DGCA had given permission with these conditions

• It is very important for airlines to have an air operator certificate at all times.
• The aircraft used in the operation should be in good airworthiness.
• No aircraft should be used in operation without a handling flight.
• Any change in the company which has a bearing on the plan submitted by the resolution professional should be immediately informed to DGCA.
• The resolution professional will have to provide information about flight schedules, aircraft condition, pilots, cabin crew, AMEs, flight dispatchers to the regulator.
