The AP Free Gas Cylinder Scheme launched by the Andhra Pradesh government aims to reduce the financial burden on families by providing free cooking gas (LPG) cylinders.

The initiative is designed to reduce the financial burden on households and promote clean cooking methods away from traditional fuels such as wood. Under the scheme, eligible beneficiaries will get three free LPG cylinders every year, helping to ensure access to safe and efficient cooking fuel.

Deepam Scheme for Free Gas Cylinders

On 21 October 2024, the state government of Andhra Pradesh announced that eligible women will get 3 free gas cylinders every year under the Deepam scheme. AP Deepam Yojana will provide free gas cylinders from 1 November 2024.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicant must be a permanent resident of Andhra Pradesh.
  • There should be only one LPG gas connection in the family.
  • The applicant must belong to the economically unstable section of the society.
  • The applicant must have a domestic gas connection.

  • Aadhar card
  • Ration Card
  • PAN card
  • Address Proof
  • lpg gas connection details
  • Income Certificate
  • Electricity Bill
  • Mobile Number

AP Free Gas Cylinder Scheme Application Process

If you want to apply for AP Deepam Gas Connection Scheme, then you have to submit the application form to the concerned department. Citizens of Andhra Pradesh cannot fill the online application form themselves.

  • All the female citizens of Andhra Pradesh state who want to download Deepam Yojana Application Form are requested to visit the official website .
  • When the women citizens reach the home page of the official website, they have to find the download application form option and click on it.
  • Now the PDF form will appear on your desktop screen, click on Mahila Nagrik Mandir on download icon to download the PDF form successfully.
  • After downloading the Deepam Connection application form, fill the application form with all the required details and attach all the required documents.
  • Now submit the Deepam connection application form to the concerned office.

You will not have to pay for 3 cylinders, let us tell you that this facility is given to the ration card holders by the Uttarakhand government. If you also live in Uttarakhand, then you can get 3 free gas cylinders in a year through ration card.

Only eligible card holders will get the benefit.

In the financial year 2022-23, Antyodaya ration card holders will not have to pay a single penny for refilling three gas cylinders. Only eligible Antyodaya ration card holders will get the benefit of this facility of the state government.

Eligibility to get 3 LPG cylinders free every year-

>> It is mandatory for the beneficiary to be a resident of Uttarakhand.
>> Also the eligible beneficiary should be Antyodaya ration card holder.
>> Antyodaya ration card has to be linked with the gas connection card.

When will the cylinders be available, the Uttarakhand government said that the first cylinder will be given to the cardholders between April and July. Apart from this, the second cylinder will be available from August to November and the third cylinder will be available between December and March.

Who will not get the benefit

If Antyodaya consumers do not get their gas connection mapping done with the gas agency, then they will be deprived of the benefit. This decision of the Uttarakhand government will benefit about 2 lakh Antyodaya card holders of the state. A total burden of Rs 55 crore will be incurred on this scheme.
