These facilities will be available

During the summer holidays, the number of people traveling by train is significant. So considering the increasing number of passengers, the Railway Board has written to all the zones and directed to ensure all the basic facilities in the general coaches. The railway board has issued this letter after the photo of huge crowd in the general coach of the railway went viral on social media.

What did the letter say?

The letter written by Railway Board Member (Operations and Business Development) Jaya Verma Sinha has asked the general managers of railway zones to ensure basic amenities for passengers traveling in trains, especially in general coaches.

There are no basic facilities either

General coaches are located at the front and rear ends of all mail and express trains. Therefore, they face difficulties in getting basic facilities like drinking water and food on the platforms of many stations.

These facilities will be available

The Board has directed the General Managers of all Railway Zones to arrange affordable food, drinking water and vending trolleys near unreserved coaches at every stop of trains. Apart from this, instructions have also been given to ensure cleanliness of general coaches at designated stations to improve the quality of this service.
