DA Hike Update: The central government may announce a hike in dearness allowance on March 5. The cabinet meeting will be held on the coming Wednesday.

If we look at the records of previous years, the government had announced the hike in dearness allowance (DA) at the beginning of the year from Holi. In such a situation, there is a high possibility that the government may increase DA on March 5. Employees and pensioners will get big news before Holi (Holi 2025). Under the 7th Pay Commission, DA is increased twice a year. The first increase is effective from January 1, and the second from July 1, 2025. The first increase will be effective from January 1, 2025. The government can make its official announcement at any time but it is considered to be effective from January 1, 2025.

How much will DA increase?

The central government may soon give good news to its employees on Holi. It is expected that the government may announce a 3 to 4 percent increase in DA. If this happens, the salary of entry-level employees of the central government will increase. Employees whose basic salary is Rs 18,000 per month

will increase by Rs 540 to Rs 720 per month.

How is Dearness Allowance calculated?

If an employee’s salary is Rs 30,000 and his basic salary is Rs 18,000, then he is currently getting 50% DA i.e. Rs 9,000. If there is a 3% increase, then the DA will be Rs 9,540, which will increase the salary by Rs 540. At the same time, with a 4% increase, the DA will be Rs 9,720 and the salary will increase by Rs 720.
How much was the increase last year?

8th Pay Commission: Modi government has approved the formation of the 8th Commission. The central government has announced the formation of the 8th Central Pay Commission. This commission will make recommendations for revision in the salaries of government employees.

This commission will have to submit its report by 2026. Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that the Prime Minister has approved the 8th Pay Commission. Under this, the chairman and two members of the commission will be appointed soon. This step is necessary for the 8th Pay Commission to increase the salaries of central employees and pensioners. This announcement is expected to lead to a major increase in the minimum basic salary of employees. Know here what the new pay structure could be.

Employees’ salaries will increase…

Central government employees till now get a minimum basic salary of Rs 18,000. With the advent of the Eighth Pay Commission, the minimum basic salary of employees may increase from Rs 18,000 to Rs 51,480. The government has approved the implementation of the 8th Pay Commission. With the implementation of the 8th Pay Commission, the fitment factor used in calculating salary will increase. If this happens, the salary will automatically increase. It is estimated that the government may increase the minimum salary and pension by 186 percent.

Currently, the minimum basic pay is Rs 18,000…

Employees currently get a minimum basic pay of Rs 18,000 under the 7th Pay Commission. There was an increase of ₹ 7,000 from the 6th Pay Commission to the 7th Pay Commission. Now, from the 7th Pay Commission to the 8th Pay Commission, the minimum basic pay of Rs 18,000 can be increased to Rs 51,480 after a fitment factor of 2.86. This will benefit 1 crore employees and pensioners.

Pension of pensioners will increase by 186%…

Pension is also possible to increase by 186%, which can increase from Rs 9,000 to Rs 25,740. The recommendations of the Seventh Pay Commission were implemented from 2016. Major changes were made in salaries, pensions and allowances. Now with the advent of the Eighth Pay Commission, the money of both employees and pensioners will increase.
