11 Ayurvedic colleges will be started in the state

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that 11 Ayurvedic colleges will be started in the state. As per the provisions of the new education policy, the state government has given permission to universities to conduct all types of courses including Ayurvedic, Medical. Arrangements will be made to run paramedical, nursing etc. courses in Ayurveda.

The work of registration of clinics and nursing homes related to AYUSH will be handed over to the AYUSH department. Like the Health Department, the retirement age in AYUSH will also be 65 years. All India Ayurveda Institute will be started in Ujjain. Necessary amendments will be made in the purchase policy of the AYUSH department and it will be simplified. The state government will provide assistance for setting up a unit of Ayurvedic products in the state.

For Simhastha in Ujjain, land will also be provided to Ayurvedic institutions for permanent construction. On the suggestion of Maharishi Vedic University, cooperation will be considered by the state government in setting up an International Vedic Court in Ujjain. There will also be a provision to study Unani system of medicine in Hindi.

Salary and pension will be given before time

Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu on Friday announced the release of 4% pending dearness allowance (DA) for 1.80 lakh government employees and 1.70 lakh pensioners from January 1, 2023. The release of pending dearness allowance will put an additional burden of Rs 600 crore on the state treasury every year. Employees and pensioners will be released their salary and pension on October 28 instead of November 1 and 9 respectively.

Approval of medical bills

Talking to reporters, the CM said, all pending medical bills of employees and retirees were cleared, for which a provision of Rs 10 crore has already been made. Issuing directions to the concerned departments to clear all pending medical bills this month, the CM said that for this purpose, adequate budget will be made available to the departments as per their demand.

A direct target on BJP

He took a dig at Leader of Opposition Jai Ram Thakur for “spreading lies” about shortage of funds and “misleading” the Prime Minister and the BJP national president. He said the BJP has left no stone unturned to “spread misinformation” about the state’s financial health. He said the release of dues including dearness allowance and arrears is proof that the state government is committed to addressing the grievances of its employees and there is no such financial crisis as of now.

The government has not changed the interest rates on small savings schemes including Sukanya Samriddhi and PPF. This decision has been taken for the third quarter of the financial year 2024-25. The government announced this on Monday. He said that there will be no change in the interest rates of PPF and other small savings schemes. That is, the interest on these schemes will continue to be the same as before. This is the third consecutive quarter when the government has not changed the interest rates. Earlier, the interest rates of some schemes were changed in the fourth quarter of the financial year 2023-24.

The Finance Ministry said in a notification, ‘The interest rates on various small savings schemes for the third quarter of the financial year 2024-25 (from October 1 to December 31, 2024) will remain the same as the rates notified for the second quarter (from July 1 to September 30, 2024).’

You will get 8.2% interest on Sukanya Samriddhi

According to the notification, the interest rate on deposits under Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana will remain at 8.2 percent as before. While the interest rate on three-year fixed deposits will remain at 7.1 percent. Apart from this, interest rates for PPF and Post Office Savings Deposit Scheme will also remain at 7.1 percent and 4 percent.

There was no change in the rates of these schemes

The interest rate on Kisan Vikas Patra will be 7.5 percent. This investment will mature in 115 months. At the same time, the interest rate on National Savings Certificate (NSC) will be 7.7 percent. In the October-December quarter also, investors of Post Office Monthly Income Scheme will get interest at the rate of 7.4 percent as before. The government notifies the interest rates every quarter for these small savings schemes operated by post offices and banks.

There was already a fear that there would be no change in interest rates

Experts had already predicted that the government is not in a mood to increase rates in the October-December quarter. This was because the interest rates of these schemes are linked to the 10-year government bond yield. The average yield of these bonds between June and August has been 6.93%.

Actually, the interest rates of small savings schemes are decided every three months on the basis of the average government bond yield of the previous three months. In 2016, the Finance Ministry had released a formula, according to which the interest rate of PPF is 0.25% higher than the 10-year government bond yield.

As a result of this decision, the dearness allowance in the fifth pay scale has increased from 427 percent to 443 percent and in the sixth pay scale it has increased from 230 percent to 239 percent.”

Central employees are waiting

Meanwhile, central employees are waiting for the increase in dearness allowance for the second half as per the recommendations of the Seventh Pay Commission. After the formation of the Narendra Modi government, all kinds of calculations are being made regarding the allowance.

In the month of March, the Union Cabinet had approved the release of an additional installment of dearness allowance to central government employees and dearness relief to pensioners to compensate for inflation. Under this, the rate of 46 percent of basic salary/pension was increased by 4 percent. After this increase, the allowance of the employees became 50 percent. This benefited 49.18 lakh central government employees and 67.95 lakh pensioners. Now once again a 4 percent increase is expected, so the allowance will become 54 percent.
