Public Holiday: Uttar Pradesh is going to get a public holiday once again. This holiday will be available on November 20 and will be only in 9 districts of UP. Schools, colleges, banks, government and private offices will remain closed on this day. Let us know what is the reason behind this…

Why will there be a holiday?

By-elections are going to be held on 9 assembly seats in Uttar Pradesh . Earlier the date of voting was 13 November, which has now been changed to 20 November. This decision has been taken by the Election Commission. Actually, due to Kartik Purnima, BJP and RLD had demanded to change the date. In such a situation, there will be a holiday on 20 November due to elections on these 9 seats.

Voting will be held on these seats

Let us tell you that at this time 10 assembly seats of UP are vacant. Out of these, voting is being held in the assembly constituencies of Katehari (Ambedkarnagar), Karhal (Mainpuri), Meerapur (Muzaffarnagar), Ghaziabad, Majhawan (Mirzapur), Sisamau (Kanpur city), Khair (Aligarh), Phulpur (Prayagraj) and Kundarki (Moradabad). At the same time, elections are not being held for the Milkipur assembly seat of Ayodhya as the matter is pending in the High Court.

Banks across the state will remain closed on November 15

According to the RBI’s November list, all banks in Uttar Pradesh will remain closed on November 15. Actually, November 15 is Dev Diwali, on the occasion of which schools and offices may also remain closed. However, no order has come from the government for holiday in schools and offices.

The weather of the month of November is always special because many important festivals and historical occasions come in this month. Due to these special days, there are holidays in schools, colleges, banks and government offices.

This time there will be a three-day holiday in the second week of November from November 15 to November 17. Some special days will be celebrated in these three days, due to which the series of holidays will continue. Let us know which days are on November 15, 16 and 17, and what is the reason behind these special holidays.

Why will there be a holiday on November 15?

1. Birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji

The birth anniversary of the first Guru of Sikhism, Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, is celebrated on November 15. Guru Nanak Dev Ji preached equality, brotherhood and reverence for religion in society. His message still resonates in the hearts of the people. On this day, special religious rituals are held in the Sikh community, and a large number of people pray in gurudwaras. Guru Nanak Dev Jayanti is a holiday in Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Chandigarh and other parts of the country. Schools, colleges, government offices, and banks remain closed on this day. This holiday is especially important in Punjab and Chandigarh, as a large part of the Sikh community lives here.

2. Kartik Purnima

Apart from this, Kartik Purnima is also on November 15, which is an important festival of Hinduism. This day is especially important for pilgrims, as there is a tradition to bathe in the Ganges, Yamuna and other major rivers on this day. However, this day mainly comes after Diwali and its holiday can be availed in some states, such as North India and parts of Central India.

Why will there be a holiday on November 16?

Another important day is celebrated in Punjab on November 16, which is celebrated as Shaheed Sardar Kartar Singh Sarabha Shahadat Diwas.

1. Martyrdom Day – Sardar Kartar Singh Sarabha

Martyr Sardar Kartar Singh Sarabha was born on 24 May 1896 in Sarabha village of Ludhiana district. He was a great revolutionary of the Indian freedom struggle and his contribution was very important. He openly protested against the British government during the Indian freedom struggle. He was hanged by the British rulers on 16 November 1915. To pay tribute to the martyrdom of Sardar Kartar Singh Sarabha, his Martyrdom Day is celebrated every year on 16 November. This day is celebrated as a government holiday in Punjab, and schools, colleges, banks and government offices in Punjab remain closed on this day. Tribute ceremonies are organized on this day in Ludhiana and other districts.

Why will there be a holiday on November 17?

November 17 is Sunday, which is usually a weekly holiday in India. Most offices, schools, colleges and banks remain closed on this day. However, Punjab will have three days holiday from November 15 to November 17, as November 15 is Guru Nanak Jayanti, November 16 is Shaheedi Diwas and November 17 is Sunday. Thus, Punjab will have three consecutive days holiday from November 15 to 17, which will be a good rest opportunity for employees and students.

Overall, the details of the holidays:

1. November 15 (Guru Nanak Dev Ji Jayanti): Holiday in Punjab, Chandigarh, Haryana and some other states.

2. November 16 (Shaheed Sardar Kartar Singh Sarabha Shahadat Diwas): Holiday especially in Punjab.

3. November 17 (Sunday): Weekly holiday, Punjab will also have three days holiday due to government holiday.

During these three days of holidays, people, especially in Punjab, will observe occasions of religious and historical importance, and take part in various cultural activities. Apart from this, people in other states can also take advantage of these holidays and spend time with family. Thus, these three days in mid-November hold special importance and people get an opportunity to perform their religious and cultural duties through these special days.
