On Friday, a senior official said that the ministry has asked the airlines to ensure that there is no abnormal increase in the fares of flights to and from Delhi. The ministry wrote on the social media platform X that the airlines have been advised that no punitive charges can be levied for canceling or rescheduling flights due to the incident.

Airlines canceled flights

The ministry said that after the unfortunate incident at Terminal-1 of Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport, all airlines are advised to keep an eye on any abnormal increase in the fares of flights to and from Delhi and take necessary action in this regard. A source said that after the incident at T-1, IndiGo has canceled 62 outgoing and seven incoming flights, while SpiceJet has canceled eight outgoing and four incoming flights.
