<p>The Civil Aviation Ministry on Friday asked airlines to ensure that there is no abnormal increase in fares for flights operating from the national capital amid suspension of operations at Delhi airport&#8217;s Terminal 1 following the collapse of a portion of the roof at the airport.</p>
<p>At around 5 am on June 28, a portion of the roof in the old departure area of ​​Terminal-1 (T1) partially collapsed. One person was killed and at least six others were injured in the incident. The airport&#8217;s T1 operates domestic flights of IndiGo and SpiceJet. Due to the closure of T1, many flights have been cancelled and operations have been temporarily shifted to T2 and T3.</p>

<h4><strong>Government gave information</strong></h4>
<p>On Friday, a senior official said that the ministry has asked the airlines to ensure that there is no abnormal increase in the fares of flights to and from Delhi. The ministry wrote on the social media platform X that the airlines have been advised that no punitive charges can be levied for canceling or rescheduling flights due to the incident.</p>
<h4><strong>Airlines canceled flights</strong></h4>
<p>The ministry said that after the unfortunate incident at Terminal-1 of Delhi&#8217;s Indira Gandhi International Airport, all airlines are advised to keep an eye on any abnormal increase in the fares of flights to and from Delhi and take necessary action in this regard. A source said that after the incident at T-1, IndiGo has canceled 62 outgoing and seven incoming flights, while SpiceJet has canceled eight outgoing and four incoming flights.</p>
