RBI had brought the framework in 2014

The Reserve Bank of India on Monday said State Bank of India, ICICI Bank and HDFC Bank will continue to be recognized as domestic systemically important banks (D-SIBs). The central bank had issued a framework to deal with D-SIBs in July 2014. Under this, names of banks are disclosed and they are placed in appropriate buckets on the basis of Systemic Importance Scores (SISs).

SBI has maintained its place in the list since 2015.

RBI had declared SBI as a domestic systemically important bank (D-SIB) in 2015. After this, in 2016, ICICI Bank was declared as D-SIB. Whereas, HDFC Bank was added to the list on 31 March 2017. These three banks have retained their names in the list for 2022 also. Let us tell you that the current update is based on the data collected from banks till March 31, 2022.
