If you are going to travel by train and you have a waiting ticket, then this news may be important for you. A new rule has been implemented by the Indian Railways for those traveling in the train with a waiting ticket.

According to this new rule, a fine will have to be paid for traveling on a waiting ticket. Let us know what will be the effect of this rule and what things the passengers have to take care of. Railways have a system of tickets for reservation, in which some seats are reserved in advance and waiting list is put on the remaining seats. If your ticket is in waiting, it means that the seat has not been confirmed for you yet and it is uncertain whether you can get a seat during the journey or not. But many times people travel in the reserved coach of the train by taking a waiting ticket, which will now be considered a serious violation.

Punishment for travelling with waiting ticket

Now if you board a reserved coach of a train with a waiting ticket, you will have to pay a fine. Waiting ticket does not mean that you have the right to sit in a reserved coach. Indian Railways has decided to strictly enforce this rule and if you travel with a waiting ticket, you will be fined.

Penalty for travelling with waiting ticket in sleeper coach

If you board a sleeper coach with a waiting ticket, you will have to pay a fine of Rs 250. Apart from this, you will also have to pay the full fare from the place where you started your journey to the place where you were caught by the TTE checking the ticket. If you want to continue your journey, you will also have to pay additional fare according to the further distance.

Penalty for travelling with waiting ticket in AC coach

If you try to travel in an AC coach with a waiting ticket, you will have to pay a fine of Rs 440. Along with this, you will also have to pay the fare of the journey you have decided. The amount of fare may change according to the distance of the journey, that is, the longer the journey, the higher the fare will be.

Refund and cancellation of waiting tickets

If your ticket goes into waiting list while booking tickets online, it gets cancelled automatically and you get a refund. However, this is not the case with waiting tickets booked from the counter. Waiting tickets booked from the counter are not cancelled and passengers may have to face a penalty for this.

Why is this rule necessary?

The main purpose behind this rule is to prevent chaos in the reserved coaches of the railways. When a passenger travels in a reserved coach with a waiting ticket, it causes inconvenience to other passengers with confirmed reservations and also creates problems in proper arrangement of seats in the train. Apart from this, the railways also suffer losses as there are no seats for unreserved passengers.

Railway officials say that this rule has been implemented keeping in mind the safety and convenience of passengers. Railways also get additional income from the fines levied on traveling with waiting tickets, which they can spend on improving passenger facilities and the railway network.

Excise Policy 2025: The Madhya Pradesh government has implemented the new Excise Policy 2025, making many important changes in the rules of liquor sale. Now liquor will not be sold without a POS machine, liquor shops located around religious places will be closed, and it has been decided to shift some shops to new locations.

Also, the government has indicated to increase the price of liquor to compensate for the revenue loss from the closed shops. Apart from this, additional charges will be imposed for serving liquor in bars and restaurants.

Sale of liquor will be banned near religious places

Under the new policy, liquor shops in 19 religious cities and villages of the state will be completely closed from April 1, 2025. The government says that this decision has been taken keeping in mind the respect of religious sentiments and social balance. However, the government fears a loss of revenue due to this, to meet which the prices of other liquor shops may be increased by up to 25%.

Liquor sales will be monitored through POS machine

The government has made it mandatory to install POS (Point of Sale) machines at all shops to increase transparency in liquor sales. This will record every sale digitally and prevent tax evasion. If a contractor sells liquor without a POS machine, he will have to pay a fine of Rs 25,000. This fine may increase further if the rules are violated repeatedly.

Changes in licensing rules

According to the new excise policy, contractors will now have to submit e-bank guarantee, which will be valid till 30 April 2026 and cannot be used for any other work. To compensate for the losses caused by the closure of liquor shops in religious cities and villages, the government has prepared a formula, under which 25% of the annual value of the closed shops will be added to the prices of other shops.

Sale of liquor will be banned in some places

According to the new policy, liquor shops will be completely closed in 13 municipal corporations and 6 gram panchayats of the state. No new licenses will be issued at these places nor will these shops be shifted to any other place.

New rules for liquor sales at commercial events

The government has introduced new license rules for liquor sales at commercial events. Now the fee for serving liquor at events has been fixed from Rs 25,000 for 500 people to Rs 2 lakh for more than 5,000 people.

Train Ticket Rule: Lakhs of people travel daily by Indian Railways and it is considered to be the safest and cheapest means of travel. But, there are many types of rules regarding traveling in the train (Indian Railways Rule).

Similarly, there is a rule regarding waiting for the train on the platform (Waiting at Railway Station), which may have to be fined if not followed. So let us tell you such a rule of railway, about which most of the people are not aware and because of this they have to pay fine.

Train waiting rules

People often reach the railway station before time to travel by train, but even after taking the ticket, there is a time limit for waiting on the platform and for not following it, a heavy fine has to be paid. Could. So let us tell you about this rule of railway.

Rules regarding waiting on the platform

If you reach the railway station after taking the train ticket, then there are special rules to stay there. If your train is of day then you can reach the station 2 hours before the train time and if your train is of night then you can reach the station 6 hours before the train time. You will not be fined for this.

At the same time, the same rule applies even after deboarding the train and on deboarding during the day, one can stay at the station for 2 hours, while at night it is 6 hours. However, for this you will have to keep the ticket with you and show it to the TTE if asked.

Platform ticket will have to be taken for long stay

If you stay at the railway station beyond the scheduled time, you will have to take a platform ticket. That is, if you stay at a station for more than 2 hours from the train time during the day and more than 6 hours from the train time at night, then you will have to take a platform ticket. If you do not do this, TTE can collect fine from you. Along with this, also keep in mind that the validity of Platform Ticket (Platform Ticket Rule) is also only for 2 hours and if you stay more than this, you can be fined.

If the driver cancels the booking, there is a huge loss of ride time. They have trouble reaching office or their destination on time. But the transport department of a state has found a solution for this.

If you have to go to the office or have to go for some important work, then what is the worst thing after booking a ride? This happens when the driver cancels the booking. But a solution to this problem has been found in one state. This is great news for the travelers. Now they can lodge a complaint with the Transport Department, if the cab drivers cancel the ride booked on the cab-hailing application.

How much fine will the cab drivers have to pay?

Tamil Nadu state government has implemented these new rules. The government is going to amend the fine under section 178(3)(b) of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988. Taxi (cab) drivers will be fined Rs 500, while auto-rickshaw and bike drivers will also have to pay a fine. Under section 178(3)(a) of the Act, a fine of Rs.50 will have to be paid.

Passengers Complaints Against Cab Drivers

The move by the transport department has been welcomed by commuters who have filed several complaints against app-based aggregators. Because they have failed to take appropriate action against the drivers.

Complaints were filed against taxi, auto-rickshaw and pedicab drivers who canceled bookings when passengers opted for payment options other than cash. It also proves that the drivers deposit the amount illegally. Complaints were also filed against taxi drivers who canceled trips to certain destinations in the city.

Opinion of the Association

Shri S. Balasubramaniam is the Director General of the Thozhilalar Convention Department of Automobiles, Tamil Nadu. He said that with the enactment of the Motor Vehicles Amendment Act 2019, fines will be imposed on auto-rickshaw drivers who refuse to ride, which will affect the livelihood of the drivers.

There is no differing opinion on imposing fines on erring drivers, but right drivers should not be affected. He said this statement because sometimes the drivers who pick up the school children search the passengers while going to school. And they refuse rides to bookers to go to other destinations. From Wednesday, a revised traffic fine will be charged for violating the Motor Vehicle Act.
