Apart from Delhi-NCR, the Meteorological Department has also warned of heavy rains in Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, North Madhya Pradesh and West Uttar Pradesh.

Heavy rain in Gurugram since 5 am

The IMD has issued a red alert for heavy rains in entire Delhi except North Delhi on Thursday . The situation is similar in Noida and Ghaziabad. It has been raining heavily in Gurugram since 5 am, due to which many areas of the cyber city have been submerged in water and waterlogging has occurred.

Possibility of rain in UP in next 48 hours

Monsoon is fully active in Uttar Pradesh and due to the low pressure area formed over the Bay of Bengal, monsoon activities are likely to intensify in the entire state in the next 48 hours. IMD officials said that due to the low pressure area formed over the Bay of Bengal, the eastern end of the ‘monsoon trough’ has shifted southwards, due to which light to moderate rainfall is expected in most parts of UP and heavy to very heavy rains at some places.

The Meteorological Department has issued an ‘Orange Alert’ for Bareilly, Pilibhit, Shahjahanpur, Lakhimpur, Sitapur, Bahraich, Shravasti, Gonda, Balrampur, Siddharthnagar and Maharajganj districts of the northern part of UP. However, the intensity and extent of rainfall is likely to decrease from August 15. The department has predicted rain or thundershowers at most places in western Uttar Pradesh and some places in the eastern part of the state on Thursday and there are also chances of thundershowers and lightning at some places.

The highest rainfall in eastern Rajasthan was 242 mm in Ramganj Mandi of Kota and 235 mm in Jetpura of Bhilwara.

Heavy rain alert

According to the Meteorological Center , there is a possibility of heavy, very heavy and sometimes very heavy rains in some parts of south-eastern and north-eastern Rajasthan on July 29. On the other hand, on July 30-31, heavy and very heavy rains are expected in some places in Bharatpur, Jaipur and Ajmer divisions and moderate to heavy rains in some places in Bikaner division.

According to the Meteorological Center Jaipur, on Monday, 111.5 mm of rain was recorded at the irrigation building on JLN Marg in Jaipur, 74.2 mm at the Jaipur airport and 66.8 mm at the Meteorological Center office. Most of this rain occurred after 6:30 pm. A private school bus got stuck on the culvert of Kerala river in Sirohi of the state.

There were 35 children in the bus. At the same time, the police said that two bike riders were swept away while crossing the bridge of Bedach river in Chittorgarh. Flood-like conditions occurred due to waterlogging in Bijolia area of ​​Bhilwara where a boat was seen running on a road filled with water. While the bridge of Eru river was filled with water up to five feet. Due to heavy rains in Jhalawar, the situation is bad in about half a dozen villages.
