Northern Railway has changed the arrangements at some stations in view of the crowd, so that passengers can board the trains conveniently. Under this, the entry gates at the stations have been changed. RPF has been deployed at the FOB.

Northern Railway CPRO Himanshu Shekhar said that keeping in mind the Holi crowd, some changes have been made on the Ajmeri Gate side. Entry to platforms 1-15 is through FOB3 (gate 8), FOB2 (gate) and FOB1. Entry to platforms 1-15 will no longer be through gate 10 (platform 16). Reserved passengers going to platform 16 will have to enter from gate 10, while unreserved passengers will have to enter from gate 12 to go to the same platform.

Mini control rooms were set up at six stations

Delhi Division has set up mini controls at 6 stations. These stations are New Delhi, Delhi, Nizamuddin, Anand Vihar, Ghaziabad and Panipat. Special Duty Officers (SDOs) have been deployed in addition to the existing equipment to monitor train operations and crowd control and coordinate with the mini controls.

Holding areas at two stations

Special holding areas have been created in New Delhi and Anand Vihar for security in case of increased crowd. Ticket booking counters have been shifted to the holding areas to improve passenger experience. Commercial ticket checking staff (TTE) have been given special uniforms so that they can be easily identified. Commercial and RPF staff have been given walkie talkies for better coordination with the mini control room.

No entry for passengers without tickets

Passengers without tickets are no longer allowed inside these stations. Only those passengers are allowed inside the station who have valid tickets. Mobile ticketing and automatic ticket vending machines have been deployed in sufficient numbers to meet the high demand.

Special trains will run from platform 16

Special arrangements have been made for boarding passengers in special trains. For example, platform 16 has been marked for running Holi special trains. Apart from this, some trains with high occupancy have been shifted to platform 16 of NDLS. Regular reserved and unreserved Holi special trains will run from all major stations of Delhi division.

Teams were formed to board the passengers in the coach

To ensure that no untoward incident takes place while boarding the trains, a queue divider (serpentine form) has been prepared. Special teams have been deployed to ensure that passengers with reserved tickets can easily board their coaches. Those on the waiting list are not able to enter the reserved coaches. For this, special ticket checking teams have been deployed at New Delhi and Anand Vihar stations. Keeping in mind the crowd, adequate deployment of RPF has been done at all FOBs.

How much will the salary increase due to DA hike?

With 3% DA hike, the new DA will be Rs 9,540, i.e. an increase of Rs 540.

With 4% DA hike, the new DA will be Rs 9,720, which will be Rs 720 more.

Pensioners will also get benefit

Dearness Allowance (DA) is given to employees, while for pensioners it is called Dearness Relief (DR). This time more than 1 crore government employees and pensioners will be able to take advantage of this increase.

How much was the increase last year?

In October 2024, the government increased DA by 3%, increasing it from 50% to 53%.

In March 2024, the government increased it by 4% to 50%.

How is dearness allowance decided?

Dearness Allowance is calculated based on the All India Consumer Price Index (AICPI). The government fixes the rates of DA and DR taking into account the 12-month average AICPI data.

For public sector employees

Last DA hike before 8th Pay Commission

The 8th Pay Commission is likely to be implemented from 2026, but before that the central government employees will get two DA hikes under the 7th Pay Commission.
