After Diwali, cold has gradually started showing its effect. Meanwhile, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has once again issued an alert of cyclonic storm becoming active.

Cyclonic circulation is forming in the Bay of Bengal, due to which there is a possibility of western disturbance becoming active and rain in coastal states. The Meteorological Department has warned of rain, thunderstorms, lightning and hailstorms in many states of South and North India till November 12.

IMD alert: Affected states and possible weather changes

According to the Meteorological Department report, cyclonic conditions are developing in the central region of the Bay of Bengal, due to which strong winds and thunderstorms may occur in South Indian states like Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Puducherry and some northeastern states like Manipur, Nagaland, Mizoram, Tripura and Andaman and Nicobar Islands till November 12.

There is also a possibility of sporadic hailstorms in Kerala and Mahe, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam and parts of Rayalaseema between November 8 and 10. In such a situation, the Meteorological Department has advised the people of these areas to remain alert.

Effect of change in temperature:

In the last 24 hours, no significant change has been observed in the minimum temperature in many states. Except West Madhya Pradesh, Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal, the minimum temperature in other states of the country remains above normal. A drop of 1-2℃ has been recorded in the minimum temperature in Mahe and some areas around it.

At the same time, the minimum temperature in Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Gujarat, North Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh was 2-4℃ above normal. The maximum temperature in Bihar, Jharkhand and Gangetic West Bengal was also observed to be 2-4℃ above normal, while the minimum temperature in Rajasthan, Gujarat, Vidarbha and Chhattisgarh also remained above normal.

Caution and safety measures

Due to this seasonal change, IMD has appealed to people living in coastal and affected areas to be cautious and follow weather updates carefully. Due to the possibility of heavy rain, thunderstorms and lightning, it is advisable to check the weather conditions before traveling and take safety measures as necessary.
