Threat of cyclonic storm

The Meteorological Department has forecast the formation of a cyclonic storm in the coming days. Currently, a cyclonic circulation is active in the eastern equatorial Indian Ocean and the adjoining South Andaman region, which has spread to the middle troposphere of the ocean. Due to the effect of this circulation, a low pressure area is likely to form. The Meteorological Department says that this storm can move towards the South Bay of Bengal moving in the west-northwest direction.

The Meteorological Department said that in the next 2-3 days, stormy winds and heavy rains may occur in South Bay of Bengal, Gulf of Mannar, Andaman Sea and coastal areas. Due to the effect of this cyclonic storm, fishermen have been advised not to go to sea, especially in areas around Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh and Andaman-Nicobar Islands. The speed of winds can be from 35 to 55 kilometers per hour, which can pose a risk to sea travel.

Alert of rain and storm winds in these states

According to the Meteorological Department, due to the effect of cyclonic storm, heavy rains may occur in many states of South India and Northeast India. According to the weather alert issued for November 23 to 28, thunderstorms and lightning may occur in Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Puducherry, Andaman-Nicobar Islands, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura and some other areas.

Heavy rain is also expected in some places, and the Meteorological Department has appealed to the citizens of these areas to remain alert. Along with this, stormy winds are expected in the southern states, whose speed can be up to 35-45 kilometers per hour. The Meteorological Department has advised fishermen to stay away from the sea, and normal life may be affected in these areas.

Cold and fog will increase in North India

The weather will remain dry in North India this week, but fog conditions and cold are likely to increase. Dense fog is likely to cover the areas of Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Himachal Pradesh and Chandigarh till November 30 in the morning and evening. Fog may also increase in other cities including Delhi-NCR in the morning, which may affect visibility. However, there may be some relief due to sunshine during the day, but the effect of cold will remain due to falling temperature. The feeling of cold may increase further due to increasing fog in Delhi too. According to the Meteorological Department, cold will increase in North India in the next few days and the effect of cold wave can be felt.

Effect of snowfall in Kashmir and Himachal

Snowfall has started in the hilly areas of Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand, which may lead to a sharp increase in cold. Temperatures have dropped below zero in Jammu and Kashmir this week, and Srinagar recorded a temperature drop to 0.4 degrees Celsius on Friday. Light snowfall and rain may occur in the high altitude areas of Jammu and Kashmir, and the cold is likely to increase further in the coming days. During this time, there is a possibility of torrential rain in more than 20 districts. In view of the warning of the Meteorological Department, holidays have been declared in schools from class 1 to 8 in Prayagraj, Pratapgarh, Mirzapur, Sonbhadra, Bahraich, Chitrakoot, Hamirpur and other districts.

According to the Meteorological Department, heavy rain is predicted for the next two to three days. The districts for which heavy rain warning has been issued include Prayagraj, Fatehpur, Pratapgarh, Rae Bareli, Chitrakoot, Kanpur, Kanpur Dehat, Amethi, Sultanpur, Jalaun, Hamirpur, Mahoba, Jhansi, Lalitpur, Banda, Moradabad, Amroha, Bijnor and Rampur. Heavy rain alert has been issued in these districts. In view of which, holiday has been declared in schools.

Possibility of lightning in these districts

The Meteorological Department has expressed the possibility of lightning with thunder around the capital Lucknow, Barabanki, Ayodhya, Rae Bareli, Amethi, Sultanpur, Ambedkarnagar, Banda, Chitrakoot, Kaushambi, Prayagraj, Fatehpur, Kanpur Dehat, Kanpur Nagar, Kannauj, Bhadohi, Jaunpur, Varanasi, Mirzapur, Sonbhadra, Ghazipur, Pratapgarh, Chandauli, Moradabad, Amroha, Bijnor and Rampur districts.

50 villages in Purvanchal are in the grip of floods.

Due to torrential rains, there are flood-like conditions in many districts of Purvanchal. Flood water has entered more than 50 villages in Sonbhadra, Mau, Ghazipur. It has been raining continuously in Sonbhadra for the last 24 hours, after which the gates of Rihand and Obra dams had to be opened. Water was also released from Ghanghraul and Nagwan dams, due to which the Karmanasha river is in spate.

Chandauli district is also witnessing the double blow of rain and floods. Due to continuous rain and water released from dams, the Ganga river is in spate. The Ganga river is flowing 50 cm above the warning point in the district, due to which the cremation grounds of Balua and Padav have submerged. Water has also entered many villages.
