Rajasthan was in the grip of severe heat and heatwave for the last few days . The temperature in Barmer had reached 46.4 degrees Celsius. However, now the weather has changed due to the effect of western disturbance. Winds at a speed of 30-40 km/h and rain are expected in many districts including Jaipur, Alwar, Sikar, Churu, Jhunjhunu, Bharatpur, Ajmer, Jodhpur and Bikaner. Hailstorms may also occur in some areas.

Be careful in these districts

The Meteorological Department has advised special vigilance in districts like Nagaur, Hanumangarh, Sawai Madhopur, Kota, Udaipur, and Pali. Strong winds can cause trees to fall, damage power lines and threaten kutcha houses. Farmers have been advised to keep their crops safe.

Weather will remain normal in three districts

The weather is expected to be normal in Barmer, Jaisalmer and Dungarpur. There is neither a thunderstorm alert nor a heatwave warning in these districts. However, the temperature may remain above 40 degrees.

Advice for people

The Meteorological Department has appealed to people to avoid unnecessary travel and stay safe in their homes. Do not stop in open fields due to the possibility of lightning. Light rain in Jaipur on Friday brought relief from the heat, but it is important to remain alert for the next few days.

The reason for the rain is two western disturbances. The sky will be cloudy in Delhi NCR and strong winds will blow during the day. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has released an update regarding the weather.

Two western disturbances will continuously affect the western Himalayan region. One western disturbance will be active from January 29 and the other from February 1. Due to their effect, moderate to heavy rains and snowfall may occur in the western Himalayan region between January 29 and February 2. Light rain is expected in the surrounding plains between January 30 and February 1. Light to moderate and heavy rains are expected in parts of Tamil Nadu, Puducherry. However, northeast monsoon rains have stopped in Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Andhra Pradesh from today.

IMD has issued a cold wave warning. In the last 24 hours, cold wave conditions prevailed in Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab and Rajasthan. There is a cold wave alert in these states on January 28 as well. In the plains of the country, Fatehpur Sikar in East Rajasthan recorded the lowest minimum temperature of 0.5 degree Celsius. In many parts of North-West India and adjoining Uttarakhand, the minimum temperature is 5-10 degree Celsius, while in Central India, East and West India the temperature is between 10-18 degree Celsius.

Know what will be the temperature where?

There will be no significant change in minimum temperatures in northwest India in the next 24 hours, but thereafter there may be a rise of 3-5 degrees Celsius. There will be no change in mercury in central-eastern India as well and temperatures may rise by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius in western India in the next 4-5 days.

Dense fog alert issued

In the last 24 hours, dense to very dense fog was reported over Uttar Pradesh, Odisha, Assam and dense fog over Uttarakhand, West Bengal, Sikkim. Dense to very dense fog is likely over Uttar Pradesh, Bihar during night and morning hours till January 31, Uttarakhand, Assam, Meghalaya on January 28, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi till January 29, Odisha till January 30, Gangetic West Bengal between January 28-31.

Clouds will cover Delhi NCR

According to the Meteorological Department, the minimum temperature in Delhi NCR has dropped by 1 degree Celsius in the last 24 hours. The maximum temperature in Delhi is between 22 to 24 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature is between 6 to 8 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperature was 2 degrees Celsius below normal and the maximum temperature was 2 degrees Celsius above normal. The weather remained clear at most places. However, winds are also blowing at a speed of 12-14 km per hour during the day. The sky will remain partly cloudy from January 28 to 30. Fog is likely to prevail in the morning and night at most places.
