<h2><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Are There Any Charges?</span></h2>
<p class="isSelectedEnd"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Yes.</span></p>
<p class="isSelectedEnd"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Paying income tax through a credit card is generally <strong>not free</strong>.</span></p>
<p class="isSelectedEnd"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Banks and payment gateways may charge a <strong>convenience or processing fee</strong>, typically ranging from:</span></p>
<ul data-spread="false">
<li><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"><strong>0.85% to 1.25%</strong> of the tax amount</span></li>

<p class="isSelectedEnd"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">The exact fee depends on the bank or payment gateway handling the transaction.</span></p>
<h2><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Will You Pay Interest?</span></h2>
<p class="isSelectedEnd"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Not necessarily.</span></p>
<p class="isSelectedEnd"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">The tax payment is treated like any other credit card purchase.</span></p>
<p class="isSelectedEnd"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Interest is charged <strong>only if</strong>:</span></p>
<ul data-spread="false">
<li><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">You fail to pay the full credit card bill by the due date, or</span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">You carry forward the outstanding balance.</span></li>
</ul>
<p class="isSelectedEnd"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Most credit cards offer an <strong>interest-free period of around 45 to 55 days</strong>, allowing users to manage short-term cash flow without paying finance charges if the bill is cleared in full within the billing cycle.</span></p>
<h2><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Are There Any Benefits?</span></h2>
<p class="isSelectedEnd"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">If the credit card bill is paid on time, taxpayers may enjoy several advantages, including:</span></p>
<ul data-spread="false">
<li><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Better short-term cash flow management</span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Reward points</span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Cashback (if applicable)</span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Interest-free credit during the billing cycle</span></li>
</ul>
<p class="isSelectedEnd"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">However, these benefits should be weighed against the processing fee charged by the payment gateway.</span></p>
<h2><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Things to Keep in Mind</span></h2>
<p class="isSelectedEnd"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Before using a credit card to pay taxes, remember:</span></p>
<ul data-spread="false">
<li><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Convenience or processing charges may apply.</span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Clear the full credit card bill before the due date to avoid high interest charges.</span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Keep the tax payment challan safely for future reference.</span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Compare the processing fee with the rewards or cashback offered by your card to determine whether it is cost-effective.</span></li>

In such a situation, today we are going to tell you such tricks, by which you can save your money. Actually, you can make huge savings by paying income tax through select credit cards.</strong></h4>
<p>Speaking to ET, Ankur Mittal, co-founder and CTO of CardInsider.com, said, “Only a few credit cards in India offer reward points on income tax. A few select cards, such as HDFC BizBlack and HDFC BizPower credit cards, offer reward points for tax payments. These cards offer savings of up to 16 per cent and 8 per cent on income tax and GST payments respectively.”</p>
<h4><strong>Milestone rewards on these credit cards</strong></h4>
<p>Mittal further said that apart from these, you can also use other credit cards SBI Vistara Cards/IDFC Vistara Card which also offer milestone rewards on payment of income tax such as SBI Vistara Card/IDFC Vistara Card where you can get complimentary flight tickets on reaching the milestone.</p>

<h4><strong>July 31 is the last date to file ITR.</strong></h4>
<p>If you have not filed income tax return for the financial year 2023-24 (AY 2024-25), then hurry up. Actually, July 31 is its last date. After this, a fine will be charged by the Income Tax Department. If someone does not file ITR even by July 31, then he is given a chance to file belated return till December 31 with a penalty.</p>
