Delhi-Panipat rapid rail corridor extension to Karnal – check stoppage stations & timetable

New Delhi. The corridor being built from the country’s capital Delhi to Panipat in Haryana has now been extended to Karnal. Recently, in a meeting between Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Saini in Delhi, an agreement was reached to run the Rapid Rail from Panipat to Karnal.

Soon a survey of the Rapid Rail Corridor will be done. The survey has been done till Panipat, but due to lack of budget, work on this project has not started yet. Now after its extension to Karnal, there is hope that work on it will start soon. Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) will be built from Sarai Kale Khan in Delhi to Karnal.

The distance between Delhi and Karnal is 135 km. It currently takes two and a half hours to travel from Karnal to Delhi by road. With the introduction of Rapid Rail between Delhi and Karnal, the travel time will be reduced considerably and the Rapid Rail will cover the distance between the two cities in just 45 minutes. The Rapid Rail running on this route will run at a speed of 160 km per hour.

17 metro stations will be built from Delhi to Karnal.

After the extension of Delhi-Panipat Rapid Metro Rail Line to Karnal, metro stations have also been decided. 17 metro stations will be built from Delhi to Karnal. There will be 3 stations in Karnal. The work of Delhi-Karnal Rapid Rail Line will start soon. Along with the Central Government, the Haryana Government is also completely serious about this project. The work of marking the route of the train and its stations has been started.

The train will run in 6 to 10 minutes

Rapid Rail service will be available to passengers within 6 to 10 minutes. 250 people will be able to travel in this train at a time. Apart from Karnal, people of Kurukshetra, Ambala, Yamunanagar, Kaithal and Chandigarh will benefit from the Rapid Rail running between Delhi-Karnal. After its running, people will save both time and money.

A large number of people from North Haryana and other areas live in Delhi and NCR region for studies and jobs. Being far from home, they are unable to commute, so night stay is the only option. With the start of Rapid Metro, travelling will become easier and people will also be saved from the hassle of night stay.

Delhi airport to run India’s first air train for seamless terminal connectivity

New Delhi. India’s first air train or automated people mover (APM) system will soon be launched at Delhi airport, which will connect Terminals 1, 2, 3, Aerocity and Cargo City. This will provide seamless travel to passengers and reduce the need for shuttle buses.

The project is expected to be completed by 2027. Tender has been issued for the construction of Automated People Mover (APM). This APM system will provide fast, seamless and safe connectivity between T1 and T3/2. APM will be run between Terminal 3 and T2 of Delhi Airport on one side and T1 on the other side. The air train will have four stops – T2/3, T1, Aerocity and Cargo City. The air train is likely to run by the year 2027. The total length of the air train track will be 7.7 km.

This is India’s first air train project. The selection process will take into account the bidder’s cost and revenue sharing model or financial assistance offered for the project. An official said, “If everything goes as planned, the tender can be given by the end of this financial year. The construction work of the project is targeted to be completed by the end of 2027.”

The cost may come to Rs 2000 crore

According to a report in the Times of India, the total cost of this project will be around Rs 2,000 crore. The Civil Aviation Ministry has directed that development fee will not be charged before the completion of the project. The Air Train that DIAL had earlier planned had six stops. The government had rejected DIAL’s proposal as it would have increased the travel time between T1 and T2/3.

The facility will be free.

Air trains around the world are usually free for passengers, but the cost of airport infrastructure is recovered from airlines in the form of landing and parking charges, or through user development fee (UDF). In such a situation, it is believed that this service will be free for passengers at IGI Airport as well. The need for an air train at Delhi Airport has been felt for a long time. The reason for this is that 25% of the passengers at the airport are transit flyers, who have to go from one terminal to another.
