]]> Air India Flight: Tata Group company Air India has said that Mumbai-Melbourne and Kochi-London Gatwick services will be discontinued due to temporary operational fleet reduction amid a renewal program for old Boeing 787 aircraft. The company further said that from March 30, it will operate more flights on routes connecting Britain, Europe, Far East Asia and Africa.

According to a press release issued by Tata, the company’s first Boeing 787 aircraft will be fitted with new seats and entertainment systems in April and the aircraft is expected to join the fleet again in October this year. At the same time, the renovation work of old Boeing 777 aircraft has been delayed and will begin in early 2026. 

The number of flights to Europe and Africa will increase

Loss-making Air India has over 60 wide-body aircraft, including Boeing 777s and 787s. The airline will increase the number of flights to the UK, Europe, Far East Asia and Africa for the northern summer schedule effective from March 30 to October 25.

At the same time, the number of weekly flights on the Amritsar-Birmingham and Amritsar-London Gatwick routes will be increased from three to four, while the number of weekly flights on the Ahmedabad-London Gatwick route will be increased from three to five. Air India said that Mumbai-Melbourne and Kochi-London Gatwick services will be discontinued due to reduction in the operational fleet.

Weekly 5 flights from Delhi to Seoul

Also, weekly flights on the Delhi-Seoul route will be increased from 4 to 5. The airline said that it will switch from A321 to B787 Dreamliner on 7 weekly flights on the Delhi-Hong Kong route. At the same time, weekly services on the Delhi-Nairobi route will be increased from 3 to 4.
