Hindon will serve as a connecting terminal between Kolkata and Goa, while there will be direct flight service to Bengaluru. Air India Express is a subsidiary of Tata-owned Air India. The airlines will operate daily flights from Hindon and more than 180 passengers will be able to travel in each aircraft.

According to Umesh Yadav, Director of Hindon Civil Terminal, booking has started for flights to Kolkata, Bengaluru and Goa. The flight will take off from Kolkata at 7.30 am for Hindon and reach Hindon at 9.30 am. The flight will then leave for Goa at 10.30 am and land there at 1.15 pm. The return journey from Goa will start at 2 pm and reach Hindon at 4.40 pm. The flight to Kolkata will take off from Hindon at 5.20 pm. The flight to Hindon will take off from Bengaluru at 12.40 pm and reach Hindon at 3.15 pm. The return flight is scheduled at 3.45 pm and will reach Bengaluru at 6.35 pm.

How much will the fare be?

According to a Times of India report, the fare for a one-way trip from Hindon to Kolkata will be between Rs 4,851 and Rs 5,743, while the ticket price for Goa can be between Rs 4,975 and Rs 6,235. The fare for the Hindon-Bengaluru flight will be between Rs 6,196 and Rs 19,626 depending on the passenger traffic. Air India will offer Express, Express Lite, Express Value, Express Flex and Express Biz class options to passengers.

Currently, flights are available to 5 destinations

Currently, flights operate from Hindon to Nanded, Adampur, Bhatinda, Kishanganj and Ludhiana. Air India Express will become the third airline at the terminal, significantly expanding its route network and providing more options to passengers in the NCR. Flybig Airlines and Star Air operate flights from Hindon under the Centre’s UDAN scheme.

Ghaziabad MP Atul Garg says that the government has suffered a loss of Rs 60 crore annually due to the Hindon airport not being used to its full capacity. He said that he is now trying to start flights to Prayagraj, Lucknow and Ayodhya by discussing with various airlines.

The first flight of this service will leave for Guwahati from Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport at 1755 hrs. Akasa Air will connect Kolkata with Bengaluru and Guwahati with daily non-stop flights starting May 18, 2023. Passengers will also have the additional option of traveling from Bengaluru to Guwahati on a daily basis via Kolkata. For this, passengers will be provided a seamless connection without changing aircraft.

The flight service starting from Kolkata will be the second destination of Akasa Air in West Bengal after Bagdogra. With its launch, inter-state connectivity to the city will be further strengthened.
